During installation of SQL Server 2005, Windows Installer creates temporary files on the
system drive. Before you run Setup to install or upgrade to SQL Server 2005, verify that
you have 1.6GB of available disk space on the system drive for these files. This
requirement applies even if you install SQL Server components to a non-default drive.
VJH Server:
Processor Type Pentium IV-compatible processor required
Processor Speed Minimum: 1 GHz (Recommended: 1,8 GHz or higher)
Memory (RAM) Minimum: 1 GB (Recommended: 2GB or more)
Hard Disk space small 10 GB, medium 60 GB, large installation 300 GB
VJH Client:
Processor Type Pentium III-compatible processor required
Processor Speed Minimum: 600 MHz (Recommended: 1 GHz or higher)
Memory (RAM) Minimum: 512 MB (Recommended: 1GB or more)
Operating System:
Windows XP Professional Edition and SP2 Intended for demonstration machines
and small customer systems with <1500 pts
Windows 2003 Server Edition and SP1. The recommended installation for the
majority of customers systems with >1500 pts
You must have Administrator rights on your machine before installing Vijeo Historian
Additional components:
The SQL Server 2005 Setup requires Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 or later and
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SP1 or later.
When prompted, click Finish. You need to restart Windows to enable the IIS functionality.
Installation in a Domain:
Remove the server from the domain
Join a Workgroup (connection with user and password Administrator of your
machine)
Install VJH (follow the next slides)
Join the domain again.

After prepared all the required software and hardware, you can launch the
installation of Vijeo Historian 4.0.
Once you have installed Vijeo Historian, there are some configuration settings you need to
confirm for your existing SQL Server to ensure the everything functions efficiently.

setting authentication to mixed mode
adjusting the maximum memory usage to ensure resources are available to Vijeo
Historian components.

The data source schema is not dynamic. If the Vijeo Citect project is modified, you will
need to re-import the schema for the Historian Server to recognize the changes.

The Vijeo Historian Excel Client is an application that operates within Microsoft Excel,
allowing you to create spreadsheets and charts that draw data directly from the
information published on a Historian Server.
To customize
your Report
The Vijeo Historian Web Client enables users to view and manipulate
the data published on the Historian Server within Internet Explorer.

Display a Report in the Web Client
Change the
Credentials Type to
SQL Server Account
The Historian User Functions can be used in SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence
Development Studio to run basic queries against the Historian database.
Choose a style.
To add a graph:
In the Data Tab, create a New dataset.
Create table using HistorianGraph function.
Open in View :
Dataset
Click View | Solution Explorer and right click on your solution name. Choose
properties.
Ensure that you have specified the correct "TargetServerURL". If you are using the default
instance of SQL Server that we install as part of the package this will most probably be:
http://localhost/ReportServer$SCADAReports
Deploy the

Check your Reports virtual directory in IIS (Start | Settings | Control Panel |
Administration tools | IIS):
Choose Web Page as the format and copy the URL of the report and paste it into the
expression field. Put the name of your machine if you want to have a remote access.
