Safety Rules and Regulations for ME3162 Labs Sessions

These rules and regulations must be read before attending the lab sessions. Students
who do not comply with the rulings will not be allowed to attend the labs.

1. Attire:
Only non-slippery shoes, toes covered, are allowed in the workshop,
example: sports shoes.
Long Pants or slacks, NO Bermuda.
Short sleeve shirts or T-shirt with shirt tails tucked in.
Long hair to be tied up and covered by paper cap (provided).

2. Workshop practices involve operating power machines. Students who feel


unwell or under medications that cause drowsiness should not attend the
training and seek permission for make up lesson.

3. Loose clothing, long sleeves, bracelets, rings or watches may become


entangled in moving tables or revolving spindles. Remove them before start
work.

4. Safety glasses must be worn when working with machines.

5. Do not attempt to use any machine or tool until you understand its
operations. If in doubt, ASK.

6. Do not attempt to touch any rotating or moving parts.

7. All injuries, however slight, should be reported immediately and receive


treatment.

8. Adhere closely to instructions by instructors.
