Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of our whole school health and wellbeing programme P5-7 pupils will be shortly be
learning about relationships and sexual health. Please see below for details of what will be
covered.

P5- Exploring the emotional and physical changes which occur during puberty

P6- Exploring different types of relationships, including those between family and friends

Finding out about the process of sexual intercourse and the process of fertilisation
involving sperm and egg, and be able to describe conception at a basic level. Find out
how a baby is born.

Exploring the role of a parent

P7- Exploring the emotional and physical changes which occur during puberty in more
depth

Pupils will be taught in year groups during these lessons. Should you wish to discuss any
aspect of the learning that will be taking place please do not hesitate to contact us before
Friday 2nd June 2017.
