JINGLE MAKING ACTIVITY

GUIDELINES
I. CONCEPT AND THEME
Each class shall compose an original jingle that will utilize and incorporate various Kalinga instruments
with any western instrument available.
The song has to be in Filipino.
All entries should be guided by the theme for Buwan ng Wika:

II. TIME
The Jingle can be less but should be not more than three minutes.

III. GRADING
Criteria for grading will be as follows:
1. Lyrics 25%
(Use of Language, Interpretation and Development of the Theme, Creativity)
 Is the song supporting the theme?
 Is the treatment of the theme original?
 Is there an effective use of language?
 Is the song well introduced and a theme well developed?
2. Melody & Harmony 30%
(Arrangement)
 Does the melody carry the theme effectively?
 Is it compatible with the lyrics?
 Does it capture the mood and tempo?
 Is it original?
 Is the construction with proper mood and tempo?
 How well does it enhance the melody?
 Does it contain a catchy hook and have an easy sing along style?
3. Originality and Creativity 25%
 How many indigenous instruments were utilized?
 Were the indigenous instruments utilized properly based on how it should be handled
traditionally?
 Is the incorporation of indigenous instruments effective in imparting the message of the jingle?
4. Performance and Presentation 10%
(Rendition)
 Is the presentation of the song effective?
 Is it in proper key and accurate pitch?
 Are the performers in time with the music?
 Is the diction good?
 Is it enhancing the understanding of the song?
5. Over All Impact 10%
 Is there an impact to the listeners?

TOTAL POINTS 100%
