SECTION 1. PROFILE
1.1 Background.

The current economic slump has drastically affected all the industries of the country,
especially the industries that are directly related to the fuel, financial institutions and
agriculture. Moreover, the recent crackdown in the tribal areas of the country and suicide
bombings in the rest of the country has socially as well as economically destabilized the
country. The oil in the fire in such a situation is rising unemployment rate. This has
dampened the scope of earning for the un-educated, un-skilled person. Consequently, this
has led to breakdown of cultural, traditional and moral values and support structures as
well as a dramatic increase in the number of women and child-headed households.

As the Bahria is getting itself involved in different welfare works for the provision of
assistance to such families in terms of providing them meal twice a day as well as some
financial assistance, we want to introduce the project that will not only be a good way for
helping the people socially as well as economically but also will leave an eternal mark of
social well being by the Bahria. The project to be introduced is the establishment of
Vocational Training Institute for the local labor and well as the labor countrywide that
would include the skilled, unskilled, educated and uneducated labor of the country. Serving
such people by giving them some competitive skill that is inevitable for the market,
especially the construction industry, will economically support the people and hence a
source of income for their familys daily living will be generated.
