Keyes: Community Involvement and Volunteer Work

MI Permaculture Durand, MI
Permaculture Consultation, Design, and Workshops 2014 Present
At MI Permaculture, we have adopted permaculture as a way of life. Permaculture uses a set of principles and practices
to design sustainable human settlements. Permaculture is not a discipline in itself, but rather a design approach based on
connecting different disciplines, strategies, and techniques. It is guided by a set of ethics: Care for the Earth, Care for
People, and Reinvesting the Surplus this Care will Create (AKA: Fair Share). From these ethics stem a set of design
guidelines or principles, described in many places and in slightly different forms. The twelve principles used at MI
Permaculture are the principles from David Holmgren and can be found at the following web address:
www.permacultureprinciples.com.
Developed PSE 101: Permaculture and Sustainability Education in the Desire2Learn course management system as an
online option for teaching students about permaculture.
The MI Permaculture website can be accessed at the following web address: www.mi-permaculture.weebly.com
