Blockbuster Launches
The efforts for this rollout were as humongous at our Company level
as have been at the Government Level. We kicked-off the Project at
Allergan India in October 2016. Representatives from various
functions and business worked together to make this a reality.
Members from Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, IS departments
at the Country level were supported by Regional IS team from
Singapore and Global IS Team from US. Products of Allergan India
fall under 3 tax slabs i.e., 5%, 12% and 28%, which are determined
based on the Harmonized System of Nomenclature (HSN) Code. The
MRPs of most of the Products of Allergan will go up due to GST as
the proposed rates are higher than the rates under the previous
regime. GST will facilitate availing of Input Tax Credit (ITC) for
procurement of goods and services that was not available to us in
the past and bringing about uniformity in processes for our
business across India.
