ASSIGNMENT NO. 1

TOOLS:

1. Adjustable wrench - is an open-end wrench with a movable jaw, allowing it to be used

with different sizes of fastener head rather than just one fastener size, as with conventional
fixed spanner.

2. Side Cutting Pliers - are pliers intended for the cutting of wire. Instead of using shearing
action as with scissors diagonal cut by indenting and wedging the wire apart.

3. Spirit Level - is an instrument designed to indicate whether a surface is horizontal or

vertical. Alcohols such as ethanol are often used rather than water. Alcohols have low
viscosity and surface tension, which allows the bubble to travel the tube quickly and settle
accurately with minimal interference with the glass surface.

4. Swaging tools - swaging tools is used to make a permanent brazed connection. Swaging
the end a tube is similar to flaring in that your goal is to gradually widen the end of the tube.
However, swaging eliminates the use and expense of fittings, as well as the opportunity for
leaks.

5. System analyzer and Gauge manifold

a) System analyzer - is a tool suite that provide visibility into the real time performance
and behaviour of your software. It allows you to analyze the load, execution
sequence, and timing of your of your single core or multicore target application.
b) Gauge manifold - is an important tool for any HVAC technician. It is used in
multiple HVAC procedures including vacuuming, testing and recovery. The
manifold gauge includes two different pressure valves, a low pressure valve and a
high pressure valve.

6. Allen wrench - is a small, angled tool with a hexagonal head thats commonly used to
repair or tighten a number of small appliances or parts. It is also known as either a hex key or
hex wrench. The tool comes with varying sized designed too correspond to differently sized
joint or screw hold. The issue on this tool is that it is commonly misplaced.

7. Bench vice - a vice, a common mechanical device that is used to hold workpiece stationary,
is an integral tool in many wood and metal applications. Bench vice in particular, attached
directly to a workbench to hold the workpiece during operation such as sawing, drilling etc.

8. Blow torch or MAPP gas - MAPP or Methylacetylene Propadiene Propane, is widely

regarded and safer and easier to use substitute for acetylene. MAPP gas can be used in
combination with oxygen for heating, soldering, and even welding due to its high flame
temperature. Although acetylene has higher temperature, MAPP has the advantage that it
requires neither dillusion nor special container fillers during transport, allowing a grater
volume of fuel gas to be transported at the same given weight, and it is much safer to use.

9. Box wrench - a cylindrical wrench with a hexagonal end fitting over the head of a nut,
used especially when the nut is difficult to reach. It is a tool used to provide grip and
mechanical advantage in applying torque to turn objects such as nuts and bolts or keep them
from turning.

10. Chain vice - a device that uses a crank winch system and a high-tensile strength chain to
hold cylindrical items such as pipes in place while the pipe is being worked on. The purpose
of such vice is to prevent shifting during cutting or welding application.
11. Clamp meter - is an electrical test tool that combines a basic digital multimeter with a
current sensor. Clamp measure current. Probe measure voltage having a hinged jaw integrated
into an electrical meter allows technician to clamp the jaws around a wire or other conductor
at any point in an electrical system, then measure current in that circuit without disconnecting
it. It is preferred for measuring high level of current.

12. Claw hammer - is a tool primarily used for pounding nails into, or extracting nails from,
some other object.

13. Combination Pliers - Combination pliers are heavy-duty, side-cutting pliers, also known
as lineman pliers or side cutters, which are designed for all regular wire-cutting needs. They
have gripping jaws, a cutting edge, and insulating handle grips that reduce the risk of electric
shock from contact with live wires. This combination of features makes for a versatile tool
found in every electrician's and home tool kit.

The wedged jaws provide a non-slip grip for holding and bending small objects and the grip is
made strong by the hook bend in both handles. The cutting edge, which is really a breaking
edge since it is not sharp like a knife-edge, can cut through heavy or large-gauge wire. Finally,
this type of pliers is heavy and tough enough to be used as small hammer for use with a chisel
or screwdriver, or to pound in various types of hardware, especially staples and small nails.

14. Combination wrench - a wrench with one open end and one socket end. It is a tool used
to tighten nuts, bolts and hex fittings.

15. Flat screw - screwdriver is a screwdriver with a flat-bladed end, used to tighten or loosen
screws with a linear notch in the top.

16. Hacksaw - a saw with a narrow fine-toothed blade set in a frame, used especially for
cutting metal. It can also cut various other materials.

17. Longnose pliers - are both cutting and holding pliers used by artisans, jewellery designers,
electricians, network engineers and other tradesmen to bend, re-position and snip wire. Their
namesake long nose gives excellent control while the cutting edge near the pliers' joint
provides "one-tool" convenience. Because of their long shape they are useful for reaching into
small areas where cables or other materials have become stuck or unreachable with fingers or
other means.

18. Multi-tester - A multimeter or a multitester, also known as a VOM

(volt-ohm-milliammeter), is an electronic measuring instrument that combines several
measurement functions in one unit. A typical multimeter can measure voltage, current, and
resistance. Analog multimeters use a microammeter with a moving pointer to display
readings.

19. Phillips screw - A Phillips screwdriver is a tool that has a cross shape and features the
ability to self center. These characteristics allow for greater control and stability.

20. Pinch-off pliers - also called hose pinch pliers, used to shut off flow through flexible
tubing so that you can remove or work on attached components.

21. Piper wrench - is an adjustable wrench/spanner used for turning soft iron pipes and
fittings with a rounded surface. The design of the adjustable jaw allows it to lock in the frame,
such that any forward pressure on the handle tends to pull the jaws tighter together.

22. Plump bob -or plummet, is a weight, usually with a pointed tip on the bottom, suspended
from a string and used as a vertical reference line, or plumb-line. It is essentially the vertical
equivalent of a "water level".
23. Portable electric drill - A cordless drill is an electric drill which uses rechargeable
batteries. These drills are available with similar features to an AC mains-powered drill. These
are the most common type of drill. used for boring holes in various materials or fastening
various materials together with the use of fasteners.

24. Pull,Push Rule - is a measuring tape that coils into a compact case when not in use. It is
also called retractable steel tape, it is an extendable steel strip coiled into a container the tape
is spring loaded. So that as soon as it is release it will automatically return to the case.

25. Flaring tool - when the flare is made the end of the rube is flared or made bell shaped so
that it can be gripped between the male part of the fitting and the nut. A flared connection is a
mechanical connection and requires no solder or flame. It is easy to remove and replace a
flared joint for this reason.
