Lesson idea implementation:

After introducing Pythagorean theorem that the sum of the squares on the legs of a right triangle is equal
to the square on the hypothesis. I will mention that the theorem had been credited to Pythagoras but actually
it is proposition number 47 from book I of Euclids Elements. When I will teach this content, I have to
stimulate my student by telling them the contribution of Euclid to geometry I will introduce the instructional
video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pynah9sgd14yqjl/Euclid.mov?dl=0
When I introduce the concept of Pythagorean theorem, I will use the method of Pythagoras to prove the
theorem. Consider the diameter as a hypothesis of a triangle and take any point in the circumference of the
circle. I will put them in groups and asked them to determine the missing sides of various right triangles
(handout) they can pick two or more and measure two known sides, using Pythagorean theorem to derive the
third side.
For the project, students will be in a group of two. They will be asked to state the Pythagorean theorem,
prove it and applied what they learn by picking two triangles (different that the one in the class activities) and
determine the missing side. Students required to use iMovie to create a video representing their work and
they must include pictures, audio, and credits in their video. I will circulate the room facilitate a discussion
and helping struggling students and students who asks for help. The project will be assessed by how students
collaborate with each other and by the quality of their final product (The final project will be posted in the
class Blog). It think it will take two section of 90 minutes to complete the project.

Importance of technology:
After students create their video, they will be part of the lesson and will be 100% engaged in their learning
experience and they will be the owner of their creator (video). Creating their own video will be more
engaging and motivating to students. Students could demonstrate their knowledge using Geogebra for
example:

Inspiration (optional):

Internet Safety and Student Privacy:
I will make sure that I have the proper parental consent before posting students work. I will discuss the
proper and safe use of search tools when looking for images, audio, and video.
Other comments about your proposed student multimedia authoring activity:
After students create their video, they will be part of the lesson and will be 100% engaged in their learning
