Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity. After a review of the characteristics of quadratic functions x-intercept, y-intercept, axis of
the symmetry, the standard form of the quadratic functions, the vertex form, and the product of the linear
equation of first degree form. I will introduce the SRT as an informative pretest that will provide feedback
to see what students already know about the quadratic functions and help me to collect the misconception
that students have.

Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
Assess prior knowledge Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) To illuminate common
misconceptions Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) Summative assessment of content knowledge Test preparation
Survey/Poll Discussion starter Homework collection Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: The activity will take 15 minutes. The students
will take a 12 questions pretest on a computer or a tablet by logging into Join.quizizz.com and join the group
042761. I will assess student work through quizizz.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
Multiple choice Multiple select True/False Yes/No
Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank Longer open-ended response

Information shared above as button.

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

Yes No

Student Response and Assessment Tools
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)

Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? I will use this Quizizz as a pretest, after the pretest I will not display the correct response to
the class but after the posttest, its best for students to see after each question if they have conceptual
misunderstanding.

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?

After the SRT activity I will break down the students to four group, I will give each group a poster: the
beginner groups poster titled function in factored form and the duty of the group will be what is the easiest
features of the quadratic function to identify using factored form, the intermediate groups poster titled what
is the easiest feature of quadratic function to identify in vertex form, and the advance groups poster titled
what is the easiest feature of quadratic function to identify in standard form, I will ask each group to
determine the easiest feature of quadratic function of a set of functions they have and to present their work.
After the presentations, students will complete the quizizz live activity.

How will the data be used?

The data from this SRT of the pretest will show me the misconception that students have. The activity will be
graded as a participation grade (for completion only). I will discuss anonymous data with the whole class and
I will use it to differentiate instruction for students (see the row above). Responses are recorded and the
activity will be graded after the group & class discussion and the post test.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.

This is my first time to use Quizizz a live activity. My goal is how to differentiate and structure the lesson of
quadratic functions and give and instant feedback to my students who will be involved in their learning
experience through the group and class discussion and the life activity.

(Optional) Other comments about your SRT activity: None
