Universal Design for Learning (UDL): The activity I have planned for the students increases student
knowledge for all students by allowing them to know which topics need to be reviewed before the quiz the
following day. Struggling students may be allowed to work with a partner and all students will be able to ask
me questions as they are going through the review.

Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.

Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☐ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☐ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: Once each student has their Chromebook
open and ready for the game, they’ll be tasked with logging into our Kahoot using the class code shown on
the board. I’ve paced each question to allow the students to have one minute and thirty seconds to submit
their responses, however I’ll continue one once I see that each student has responded. The Kahoot consists of
ten questions on our topic, decimals. All week we’ve been working with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and
dividing decimals so this review covers all those topics combined. The activity should last about 15 – 20
minutes. I’ll go through each question with the class, reviewing correct answers and diving deeper into
incorrect answers with further explanation.

Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):

☒ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity? After the SRT activity, we’ll look at the class results
together and highlight the most missed questions. This Kahoot will be very similar to the real quiz on the
following day so any questions that were missed by the students need to be heavily studied at home in
preparation for the quiz.

How will the data be used? The data will be used for student learning as well as my own knowledge as the
teacher. I’ll be able to see which students are prepared and which need more study time. As well as which
questions may need to be taken out of the exam so similar ones like it and which questions are possibly too
easy. This Kahoot will allow me to adjust the following quiz as needed as well as be able to see the readiness
of my students.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. My goal for this activity is for my students to have fun
reviewing a concept that they’ve working with for weeks now and hopefully take a little bit of stress off of
their study routine as hopefully they see that they are prepared for the quiz and perform well on the Kahoot.

Reflective Practice: I feel the activity I created will impact student learning by helping them be able to
recognize the thought process needed to solve a question quickly so that they’ll be better test takers. This
student response tool will also allow them to use technology in the classroom in a fun way that facilitates
learning.
