overload) in the SoftMaster may
result an unexpected behavior of
program execution.
Step Action
1 Double-click setup.exe and execute the installation file. The Installation
Wizard appears.
2 Click Next. The Customer Information window appears.
3 Type your name and company name and then click Next.
ATTENTION
SoftMaster needs 30 MB of free disk space. In case of inadequate
free space, you are prompted to select a disk with enough capacity.
5 After selecting a folder, click Next.
ATTENTION
For more details on firmware upgrade and firmware files, contact
Honeywell TAC.
During PLC firmware upgradation, ensure to connect the USB cable to
Master CPU.
To upgrade PLC firmware for Expansion Driver module (redundant and non-redundant),
perform the following steps.
Step Action
1 Change both the CPUs to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is in
REMOTE mode.
2 Connect the USB cable to the master CPU.
3 Execute MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.1.exe.
Step Action
4 Choose Connect > Serial Port/CPU Setup.
Click .
After the download is complete, the downloader tool changes to initial mode
and LED in the Expansion driver module blinks.
9 Power off and on (Reset CPU and IO base) to make upgrade firmware online.
ATTENTION
If there are more than two expansion bases in the system, all the
expansion bases (particular ring) are upgraded at once.
10 If dual I/O link redundant topology is used, then follow the below steps to
upgrade the expansion driver module for both ring network.
a) Change CPU A to CPU B.
b) Connect USB to CPU B and repeat the steps 2 through 9.
Step Action
1 Change both the CPUs to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is in
REMOTE mode.
2 Connect the USB cable to the Master CPU.
3 Execute MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.1.exe.
Click .
Step Action
8 In the OS Download dialog box, perform the following:
a) Under Download Mode, click USB.
b) Click ML200R-ExtManager in the OS Type drop-down list.
c) Click Open and select OS as 2MLR_CPUH_Master_Vxxx.bin.
After the download is complete, downloader tool changes to initial mode and
waits for CPU ACT LED to blink.
9 Power off and on (Reset CPU) to make upgrade firmware online.
ATTENTION
In case of expansion manager, OS of Master and Standby are
migrated at once. Ensure to check if OS is updated in the Standby
CPU and reset.
10 If dual I/O link redundant topology is used, then follow the below steps to
upgrade the expansion manager module for CPU B.
a) Change CPU A to CPU B.
b) Connect USB to CPU B and repeat the steps 2 through 9.
Step Action
1 Change both the CPUs to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is in
REMOTE mode.
2 Connect the USB cable to the Master CPU.
3 Execute MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.1.exe.
Click .
Step Action
ATTENTION
Ensure the following status in Standby CPU.
To upgrade PLC firmware for CPU during operation (online), perform the following
steps.
ATTENTION
The following procedure is given by considering the CPU A as Master and
CPU B as Standby.
Step Action
1 Remove the synchronization cable (OFC) between Master CPU (A) and
Standby CPU (B) and all I/O cables connected to Standby CPU (B) to isolate
the Standby CPU (B) from operation.
2 Change the mode from REMOTE to RUN using a key switch. Hence, the
isolated Standby CPU (B) becomes a Master CPU (B).
3 Change the isolated CPU to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is
set back to REMOTE mode
4 Execute MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.1.exe.
Step Action
8
Click .
Power off the CPU (B) and connect the synchronization cable and I/O
cable to CPU (B).
10 Power off and on (Reset CPU) to make upgrade firmware online.
Step Action
13 Repeat steps 1 through 10 for CPU (A) which is Standby CPU.
Step Action
1 Connect USB cable to Master CPU (for example, CPU A) and launch
SoftMaster-NM.
2 From SoftMaster-NM, choose Online > Upload/Download (File).
Step Action
3 Select the communication module and then click BBMBoot. The LED of
FENet module is changed to Download mode and PLC CPU will reset after
BBMBoot is selected.
4 From SoftMaster-NM, choose Online > Connect and then Online >
Upload/Download (File).
ATTENTION
FDEnet is displayed as communication module only after BBMBoot
execution. Ensure to select the proper Base and Slot number.
5 Select the OS and then click Download.
Step Action
Step Action
7 Power off the Master CPU A and then re-connect the synchronization cable
and I/O cables to CPU A and it changes back to Standby mode.
8 From SoftMaster, choose Online > Control Redundancy and then click
Change Master.
