4.5 Upgrading PLC firmware for ML200R CPU online

ATTENTION
Only CPU firmware version can be upgraded online and not Expansion
Manager/Driver.
Ensure that the CPU OS version to be installed is compatible with the
existing Expansion driver/Expansion manager OS version.

To upgrade PLC firmware for CPU during operation (online), perform the following
steps.

ATTENTION
The following procedure is given by considering the CPU A as Master and
CPU B as Standby.

Execute the procedure carefully based on your current status of CPU or

ensure CPU A as Master and follow the procedure.

Step Action
1 Remove the synchronization cable (OFC) between Master CPU (A) and
Standby CPU (B) and all I/O cables connected to Standby CPU (B) to isolate
the Standby CPU (B) from operation.
2 Change the mode from REMOTE to RUN using a key switch. Hence, the
isolated Standby CPU (B) becomes a Master CPU (B).
3 Change the isolated CPU to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is
set back to REMOTE mode
4 Execute MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.1.exe.
