STARTER UNIT IN THE PLAYGROUND

-Whats the playground? Who is number 6? (Speedy) Who is number 7? (Flash) Who is the tall man in front of the
door? (Mr Crumble). Whats the name of Speedys dog? (Zoom). Apart from the people, what do you see?

AUDIO PICTURE. COMPETITION


2 teams. In each team, work is divided: 1 writer, 1 painter and the rest are describers. The painter and the writer
cannot look at the book. The describers can. They have to describe what they see in the picture (say number and
then sentence):

1) They are playing football.


2) Hes climbing.
3) Hes reading.
4) Theyre running.
5) Theyre clapping.
6) Theres Speedy. Hes eating.
7) Theres Flash. Shes singing.
8) Shes writing.
9) Shes drinking.
10) Hes sleeping.

The painter draws what he hears. S/he can only write the numbers, everything else has to be drawn. The writer
has to listen to the describers and look at the painter. When the painters and the describers are finished, the
writers of each teach will go to the board and write sentences based on what the painter has drawn. When the
writer is finished, the rest of the team has 30 seconds for corrections. The fastest and most accurate team wins.

-Ask them about the expanded and the contracted forms of the verb to be with the sentences on the board.

-LISTENING 1. I play the tape and they repeat after each sentence. CD 1, track 1.

-LISTENING 2. Different order. They hear the action and they have to say the number. CD 1, track 2.

notebook and they have to learn the questions and the answers, because I ask the questions randomly.
