Cell

Cycle Flip Book

You will be creating a flip book that illustrates the phases of the cell cycle. The layout of
this book should be in standard flip-book style, where you can flip the pages and it appears
as though the illustrations are moving and coming to life. You can choose whether the flip
book is done using paper and pencil or if it is completed digitally. Regardless, the flip-book
MUST include color and be neat (if you are messy, go digital!). For digital, power point slides
work nicely as well as many iPad apps.

Your flip book must include:

1) A cover page/slide/introduction

2) Each of the stages below with the specified number of diagrams/pictures

3) An explanation of what is happening at each stage

4) You may choose whether or not to use an animal or plant cell for your book, but
illustrations and explanations must go along with your choice.

The stages of the cell cycle are included below. The number of brackets indicates how many
major steps are happening in each stage and how many explanations must be included with
that stage. The number of pictures in each stage will vary; it is a flip book, so you may need
multiple images to illustrate what is happening at each stage!

- Interphase (3 must include G1, S, and G2)

- Prophase (3)
- Metaphase (1)
- Anaphase (1)
- Telophase (3)
- Cytokinesis (1) if using animal cell ONLY
o If doing plant cell, include illustration and explanation of cell plate formation
instead
- 2 Daughter cells formed (1)
