1966

This is a picture from a Klu Klux Klan rally that took place in 1966. The KKK
was an organization that promoted racism and hatred against all non-white
people. This picture gives us a look into the problems of the past and the
prominence of the group back then. Seeing photos like this may make the
viewer take a different approach in their own life in term of there view of
other races.
1967

This is a picture from a protest that took place in 1967. The

protesters took to the streets to express their disapproval of the
Vietnam War. This image shows us the peoples view of the very
unpopular war at the time. Seeing this photo may motivate a
person to think more about their opinions of conflict and war more
in the future.
1968

This is a picture of Richard Nixon campaigning in 1968. He would later be

elected as the President of the United States. This image gives us a look into
the political issues that had been taking place during this time period. Seeing

This is a picture of a Russian-built bomber as it flew over a U.S. aircraft carrier

in 1969. The photo was taken by a reconnaissance plane from the carrier. This
photo gives us a look into the military issues and the tension between the U.S.
and the Soviet Union at the time.
1970

This is a picture of the aftermath of the Great Peruvian Earthquake of 1970.

Followed by a massive landslide, it is currently the most catastrophic disaster
ever recorded in Peru. This image allows us to take a look at the struggles of
another nation.

This is a picture of the aftermath of the Sylmar Earthquake that took place in
the San Fernando Valley. The 6.6 magnitude quake killed 64 people and
injured of 2,500 others. This image gives us a look at a catastrophic event that
took place many years before we were born.
 1972

This is a picture of an event in 1972 known as Bloody Sunday. Peaceful

protesters in Northern Ireland were shot by British soldiers, resulting in 14
deaths. This image gives us a look into a horrible tragedy that claimed the lives
of innocents in a foreign country during this time.

This image shows the United States executive branch announcing the end of U.S
involvement in Vietnam. This marked the end of the Vietnam War for the U.S, which
had been a very unpopular war in the minds of many citizens. This image gives a look
into the military issues of the time.

This is an image of President Richard Nixon announcing his resignation in

1974. This was the result of the Watergate Scandal, that had been exposed 2
years before. This image gives us a look into the presidential and government
issues that took place at the time.
 1975

This is an image of Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War. The taking of the
capital of South Vietnam was the final effort that ended the long and bloody
war. This gives us a look at the events following the very unpopular war and
its long awaited ending.
1976

This image was taken on July 27, 1976 in Tangshan , China. This picture
shows the destruction of buildings caused by a 7.5 magnitude earthquake.
This image causes sad emotions because of the catastrophic scene without
even knowing what was actually going on you can imagine what was going on
beyond the photo.
