Introduction/Context
There are various species located in our world. These organisms survival are dependent on various
factors: Habitat, food chain, predators etc. The endangerment of certain species is a problem that is
evident for future generations and is one that preventative measures today can assist. Its vital that
adolescents are aware of all the aspects of life so they can suggest recommendations to keeping,
diminishing or raising the population of their chosen animal for future benefit.
Assessment Task
Students will synthesise an Organism Bio on either PowerPoint, Prezi, iMovie Maker or
another application of their choice (confirm with the teacher first). The bio will contain a
number of activities developed in class and design templates. On the basis of these
activities students will evaluate and analyse research, data and case scenarios to synthesise
recommendation for maintaining their organisms population. The purpose of the Bio is to
provide an engaging and enjoyable method of comprising information and resources around
how their chosen organism lives.
Assessment Conditions
Students will be given class time to synthesise and couple the required sections of their
Organism Bio. As any additional time, they wish to spend outside of class. Submission must
contain all elements outlined within the checklist; if one listed element is inclusive this will
result in a non-submission grade for that particular element.
Non-submission of the completed assessment task. Student's achievement level will be
lowered by one entire grade (i.e. A to B) for each day of non-submission. This will
continue until submission occurs or failure to submit results in an E grade. All work must be
backed-up regularly as technology failure will not be accepted as a reason for non-submission
or grounds for an extension.
Submitting Assignment
Written tasks must be formatted as follows:
Double line spaced Header with task title and your name
12pt font Footer with page numbers
A4 paper with 2.5cm margins
All assignments must be submitted by 1:55 pm on the draft, prelim and due dates.
Pre- Hand in Check List. This check list is a working collaboration between the student and their
teacher prior to handing in the final task and is not an indication of a grade.
When you feel you have completed an element of the assessment take it to your teacher to
have it checked off (Week 5
