Time 10:30-11:30 Topic THE PROCESSES IN PLANTS
AND ANIMALS

I. OBJECTIVES
The learners demonstrate an understanding of plant and animal organ systems
A. Content Standards
and their functions.
Develop a presentation (role-playing, dramatization and other forms of
B. Performance Standards multimedia) to show how an organism maintains homeostasis through the
interaction of the various organ systems in the body.
Specifically, at the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
Compare and contrast the following processes in plants and animals:
reproduction, development, nutrition, gas exchange, transport/circulation,
C. Learning
regulation of body fluids, chemical and nervous control, immune systems, and
Competencies/
sensory and motor mechanisms (STEM_BIO11/12-Iva-h-1)
Objectives
Write the LC code for Objectives:
each 1. Identify the process of gas exchange in plants and animals
2. Discover the transport of gas molecules;
3. Recognize the nutrients in animals

II. CONTENT Processes in Plants and Animals (Reproduction, Development and Nutrition)
III. LEARNING
RESOURCES

IV. PROCEDURES
Daily Routine:
-Prayer
-Checking of Attendance
Elicit:
A. Reviewing the previous
lesson or presenting the MATCH THE WORDS
new lesson (ELICIT) Teacher will give different words associated with the gas exchange of animal
and plants. Learners should identify whether it is connected to animals, plants or
both. Learners should raise their right hand if they think the word is connected to
plants, left hand for animals and learners should stand up if it is connected to
both of the animals and plants.

B. Establishing a purpose The teacher will play the video: “Transportation in Plants"
for the lesson. The learners shall answer the following questions after the video.
(ENGAGE) 1. How does the molecules are being transferred in plants?
2. Do you think there are plants that can grow without gas exchange?
C. Presenting
examples/instances of
the new lesson
(ENGAGE)

D. Discussing new
concepts and practicing
Discuss the lesson through PowerPoint/Canva presentation.
new skills #1
(EXPLORE)

Learners will be working in 4 groups, each group should be able to match the
Functions and Nutritional Requirements given in the picture below.

E. Discussing New
concepts and practicing
new skills #2
(EXPLORE)

Each group must answer the guide question.

F. Developing mastery
NOTE: Each group should have different ideas and answers associated with the
(EXPLAIN)
guide question.

G. Finding practical
applications of concepts Learners will watch a video “This Is What Actually Happens When We
and skills in daily living Breathe”
(ELABORATE)

H. Making generalizations Ask learners:

1. Is there any significant connection when it comes to plants and animals
and abstractions about gas exchange?
the lesson 2. What do you think is the major problem that is happening in our world
(ELABORATE) which is affecting the gas exchange?

I. Evaluating learning
5-item multiple choice questions
(EVALUATE)
J. Additional activities for
application or Cite the transport of subs in plants using the vascular tissues and how the innate
remediation immune response helps protect a person from illness.
(EXTEND)
V. REMARKS

VI. REFLECTION
I. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation
II. No. of learners who require additional activities for remediation
III. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners who have caught up with the lesson
IV. No. of learners who continue to require remediation
V. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why did these work?
VI. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or supervisor can help me solve?
VII. What innovation or localized materials did I use/discover which I wish to share with
other teachers?
