Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This is a copy of a student report card that I gave out during conference to my students
families. The report lists the students in-progress grade, final grade, and all of the
assignments that the student has completed in my class. I denote on the report card if
the assignment was a regular assignment or if it was a quiz, assessment, or project. I
list the due dates of all assignments on the report card, as well as if the assignment was
missing or late. Finally, I list the points that the student earned compared to the total
possible point they could have earned. This artifact meets the standard because it
provides concrete numerical evidence of student learning to their families.

Reflection on the artifact:

The report card format that I use is an effective way to communicate proof of student
learning to families. I typically combine the report card with student work samples to
give parents a more complete view on their students learning and growth. Parents
seem to like the straight-forward list of assignments and grades that they see on the
report card. It is an easily visible snapshot of student growth and success.
