Reading Dear Parents,

Review topics include We have come to the end of the first unit in our
main idea and details, Reading Counts curriculum. Next week will be spent
sequencing, and point of reviewing the material we have covered during the unit,
view and taking assessments to determine if the material was
mastered. If you would like to help your 4th grader
prepare for these reading assessments, please discuss the
Calendar targeted reading skills as they relate to their at-home
Oct. 18/19 Parent/ reading and incorporate the vocabulary words into your
Teacher Conferences conversations at home. Review topics can be found under
Oct. 23-26 Pumpkin Reading (to the left) and Vocabulary (below). And, of
Character Decorating course, continue to read at home over the weekend.

We are lucky that Heber Cruz Rivera has
joined our class this year. He is nine years old
and enjoys playing baseball. His favorite
movie is Goal Strider and his favorite football
team is the Carolina Panthers. He doesnt
really like school and is afraid of snakes,
sharks, and the dark. His favorite animal is a
lion and he loves to eat spaghetti and wear
pants. His favorite president is George
Washington and his favorite Fit poster is
Recharge Your Energy. His favorite teacher
was Mrs. Wisler. We are so glad he is here.
