QOLORA OUTREACH PROJECT

During the September holidays Mr Rowan Harmuth, Ms Marion Wasdell and Mr and Mrs
Jock McConnachie together with eight RBHS pupils - Mogammad Gamiet, Jonathan Prest,
Alessandro Napoli, Michael Klopper, Nathan Morar, Johann Minnaar, Keaton Saunders
and Alan Eaby, travelled to Qolora to assist Matrics with their preparation for their final
exams. In liaison with Isolomzi School, Mr Harmuth sent old RBHS Mock Matric papers
and additional subject papers in order for their students to prepare - their aim is to attain
100% pass rate this year, a goal the School has not yet managed to achieve.

Mr Simpson received this letter from Rufus Hulley in recognition for the wonderful work
and time invested by our Grade 12s during this visit.

Dear Mr Simpson

I have spent most of my life with the rural communities in the Centane District and am well aware of the many
challenges that face education in this area. Last week I witnessed something very special. Having seen such
enthusiasm and gratitude amongst the rural residents in the Ncizele Admin Area, where the Isolomzi High
School is situated, I feel I must communicate this to you.

Their gratitude shown is the result of eight of your senior students spending their September Holidays, under the
guidance of Mr Rowan Harmuth and Ms Marion Wasdell, helping the students of this school in their preparation
for their final exams.

I was privileged to attend their Heritage celebration on Friday 28th at the school. Your students joining in and
participating in these celebrations was a joy to see. Knowing the Xhosa, the picture I saw of facial expressions
and hearing the response of the young and old to the performance of your students gladdened the heart of
everyone present.

Your students will no doubt remember and cherish their experience in a rural area for the rest of their lives.
More of this type of initiative will certainly benefit the future of our country.

We are full of pride and admiration for Mr Butshing1s dedication and commitment to the school, and the
good work he is doing. This together with Mr Jock McConnachies unselfish commitment and dedication to this
cause has made this possible. Special thanks to Jock, the boys parents and the many other supporters. To
Mogammad Gamiet, Jonathan Prest, Alessandro Napoli, Michael Klopper, Nathan Morar, Johann Minnaar,
Keaton Saunders and Alan Eaby, we thank you and wish you well in your own studies and look forward to
meeting you again.

Warm regards,

Rufus Hulley
