Mechanical CAD Technician

RGL is seeking a Mechanical CAD Technician to support the engineering and technical team in the design,
development, manufacture and testing of oil and gas downhole tools. Experience with flow control tools,
sand control, SAGD and CSS thermal completion tools is an asset. You will report to the Engineering
Manager.

Status: Immediate
Terms: Full Time Regular Hours - Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30pm. (Some overtime)
Location: Edmonton, AB (Leduc Business Park)

Compensation: Salary and benefits. Commensurate with qualifications.

Responsibilities: CAD design and drafting for new and existing tools and products.
Solidworks modelling and creating drawings and BOMs for fabrication
Process engineering changes, update drawings and BOMs.
Create manuals and SOPs for tools
Tool Testing using pressure pumps, load cells and hydraulic/mechanical testing equipment
Populate the product data management database Solidworks EPDM
Coordinate with design engineers for review/approval of tool drawings
Coordinate with shop for drawing release of production tool orders

Education: Diploma Mechanical Technology or Engineering /Certification

Experience: 3 plus years experience in Oil and Gas engineering. 5 plus years experience with
Solidworks. Experience in thermal completions and sand control an asset. Experience in a
custom manufacturing environment is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

A firm understanding of downhole thermal completions, tool designs and their applications
Strong competency with Solidworks and Microsoft Office
Familiar with GD&T methods and standards.
Familiar with API, ISO & ASTM standards, is an asset.
Experience with data acquisition systems, transducers, load cells and other sensors
Aptitude for mechanical and structural design
Self-starter and aggressive learner; Attention to detail
Collaborative team approach
Must comply with Company policy for a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a
