Strong hands-on experience in 3D modelling and 2D drafting/detailing of mechanical components and assemblies

using CREO.

Ability to understand requirements, perform basic design calculations, create design concepts.

Understand technical requirements of the engineering change requests / new product development requests.

Strong knowledge in material selection, application & surface treatment processes.

Perform DFMEA and arrive at DVP&R.

Create BOM for the product design including bought-out and manufactured components

Perform tolerance stack-up calculations (Dimensional Variation Analysis).

Assess design concepts for manufacturability, assembly, and service in coordination with cross-functional team and

suppliers.

Interface with simulation team for getting analytical verification and optimization of design done.

Interface with suppliers for mechanical parts development.

Ensure that the design meets the performance, quality, and cost criteria.

Coordinate mechanical hardware testing.

Undertake benchmarking and value engineering activities as necessary.

Conduct design reviews, obtain stakeholder approvals.

Adhere to overall product design and development cycle schedules, periodically report progress.

To execute project efficiently and maintaining quality.

Provide solutions to design related problems proactively.

Use various problem-solving techniques to analyse the problems and in finding out solutions.

Participate in internal meetings, suggest solutions to resolve design related problems.

Create internal process documents for the new processes based on the requirements.

Collaborate with others to meet timelines as well as solve problems.

Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.

Requirements

Preferable to have experience of 3D CAD Modelling and 2D drafting / detailing of Automotive / Turbomachinery /

Industrial domain and strong expertise in creating detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings for these

components and assemblies.


Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as Sheetmetal, casting, forging, and machining.

Creative, possess good visualization skills.

Good understanding of Design for manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) requirements.

Good understanding of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is a must!

Exposure to tolerance stack-up calculations.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

The ability to work as part of a team.

Good experience on DFMEA.

Excellent communication and presentation skills. Good skills in MS-Office tools
