As a design engineer you're involved in the initial concept, design, development and

management of projects in a range of sectors such as construction and the built environment,
materials, software, components, machinery and vehicles. Major responsibilities revolve
around Design, Model, Detail and Assembly of components and products using CATIA and
PRO-E. Therefore, excellent 3D modelling skills are a must.

To succeed you will need strong technical knowledge, as well as problem solving,
communication, leadership and project management skills.

Core Software Skill

CAD Software i.e. Catia V5, FIDES, UG-NX, Solid Edge, Solid Works & Auto Cad

· Should have atleast 2 years of experience in Pro E CAD software

· Hands on experience in CAD Software i.e. Catia V5, Solid Edge, Solid Works,
Autocad, Pro-E, Croe, Photoshop
· Part modelling with proper methodology or approach (Parametric Modelling)
· Applying GD & T
· Welding Symbols
· Assembly
· Expressions in 3D
· Should have 2 + years of Catia V5 tool experience
· Should have knowledge and Catia V5 experience in designing attachment features,
Locating Schemes, Fit & Finish Techniques using Part Design, Assembly Design and
Generative shape design modules.
· Should have PLM, Drafting knowledge.
· Should maintain good data management system for 3D part structure.
· Should have Experience in Catia Surfacing

Responsibilities
As a design engineer, you will be required to:

· liaise with clients to identify their requirements

· Undertake analysis on how to improve existing projects / components
· Write technical reports to summarise findings
· Cover the concept, specification and development of new projects or components
· Design the aesthetics, materials and functionality of components
· Use CAD, CAN and CAM systems to design and visualise projects
· Undertake model making, prototyping and product testing
· Identify new systems and processes to drive quality, efficiency and save costs
· Communicate effectively with the clients, colleagues and contractors in a project
· Lead a team of engineers
· Incorporate EDM’s, Corrections etc
· Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget.
