Specific problem:
The school lunches need to be healthier and more enjoyable.

Instructional objectives:
 Identify three specific issues with the lunches offered here on campus.
 Address each of these three issues and determine ways to resolve and/or improve them.
 Develop a persuasive speech presentation using Power Point to present your work (8 slides
minimum).
 Provide outline of presentation during planning stages.
 Complete graphic organizer during brainstorming process.
 Write one page reflection following guidelines provided.

Group #2:

This group will need more scaffolding. Through the planning stages, I will guide them through the
completion of their graphic organizers. I will provide more instructional time with this group focusing on
language acquisition by providing examples and non-examples to improve literacy and understanding.

Group #3:
I will use the resource room, the student’s counselors, and the tutoring lab to produce and more
effective and open-ended means of information exchange. I will teach one class in the library providing a
“mock presentation” in which I will present an example Power Point to the class. I will use the librarian
to help me assist with knowledge and understanding of the Power Point software. Students will be given
more time to complete this activity.
