General Learning Outcomes:


Through the examination of the Renaissance Europe, students will demonstrate and understanding and
appreciation of how the exchange of ideas and knowledge contributed to shaping the worldview of the
Western world.

Specific Learning Outcomes:


8.2.1, 8.2.2, 8.2.3, 8.2.4

Students will:
-Research and identify Renaissance personalities such as musicians, artists, scientists, academics,
politicians, popes, queens, kings, etc.

Written/Performance Assessment:
-Practice: Split Page Vocabulary (3 marks)
-Practice: To Think About/2pages (7 marks)
-Activity 4 Renaissance Personalities Mind Map (33 marks)

Learning Activity #1:


-Continue working on both handouts

Learning Activity #2:


- Activity 4: Renaissance Personalities (computer lab/chrome book cart); students need to choose one
personality each, collection information on the individuals work, education, occupation, and famous
for/or/famous piece of work they are known for.
E.g. Leonardo da Vinci-Inventor, from Italy, and Mona Lisa

Assessment/Differentiation:
-Student comprehension
-Student engagement in conversation, asking questions, and the ability to complete worksheet Practice:
Split Page Vocabulary independently.
-Ability to research and identify Renaissance Personalities
-Create a Mind Web with or without assistance (extra time and a reader)
