Tension

20mm dia. Expansion bolt Strength in Tension for single bolt = 25050 Lbs
= 112.0 KN

Refering to Page 52 in Design calculation

Max. Tension = 15.8 kN

Refering to given Reaction Table (Drawing A01)

Minor Axis Moment=25 kN-m

Tension on bolts due to minor axis moment = (25/150x10-3)

= 166.67 kN

Therefore Tension/Bolt because of minor axis moment = 166.67/2

=83.33kN

So the total tension carried by a single bolt = 83.33+(15.8/4)

= 87.28 kN.

Unity Check for bolt in Tension = 87.28/112 =0.77 Hence Safe.

Shear
20mm dia. Expansion bolt Strength in Shear for single bolt = 10990 Lbs
= 49.0 KN*

(* when there is min.of 89mm effective embedment of anchor bolt in concrete)

Refering to Page 52 in Design calculation

Max. Shear = 10.0 kN

Refering to given Reaction Table (Drawing A01)

Minor Axis Shear =4 kN

Therefore Shear/Bolt because of minor axis load = 4/4

=1.0kN

So the total shear carried by a single bolt = 1+(10/4)

= 3.5kN.

Unity Check for bolt in Shear = 3.5/49 =0.07 Hence Safe.
