Sir:

This refers to the directive from your good Office requiring the undersigned to give comment on
the letter of Ms. Imelda D. Soriano, MD MCH dated 01 October 2017 relative to her request to allow
Ms. Mary Jane A. Bolito to conduct Bible Reading and Memorization of Verses in Mondragon AIHS for
Grade 7 students.

Please be informed that the said activity is allowed under DO 49, s. 2009 entitled Reiterating
the Revised Rules and Regulations on the Teaching of Religion in Public Elementary and Secondary
Schools. Hence, the same may be allowed provided that the said issuance is strictly complied with. In
the conduct of the said activity, attention of the school head is likewise invited to DO 9, s. 2005 entitled
Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith so as
to prevent disruption of classes.
