RATIONALE:
The present educational environment and the quality of learners nowadays have been in constant change. The needs are also evolving. To cope up with this,
schools must embrace new introductions like the course Educational Technology.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a three unit course for BEED/BSED programs which is concerned with integrating technology into teaching and learning. It is meant to help would-be
teachers to become familiar, knowledgeable and skilled at the proper application of educational technology to instruction to enable them to adapt to rapid technological
changes.
The teachers and the classroom must be beneficiaries of educational technology. Educational Technologies equip the future teacher to become more effective
and efficient in her day to day tasks.
VISION:
Tiwi Community College envisions a dedicated educational institution with competent management, committed teaching and non-teaching staff, capable of
producing globally competitive and innovative graduates imbued with moral, social and environmental consciousness for sustainable development.

MISSION:
Tiwi Community College is committed to produce graduates who are professionally and technically trained and value-laden to uphold the local, national and
global goals.

1. FORTITUDE - to have a strong min d that enables you to encounter challenge and bear pain so that in whatever obstacles to face , you will have the
courage to underscore adversities in life. As graduates, never say surrender, accept the challenges of the changing times without fear with dignity.

2. INTEGRITY- establish high standards for excellence, as graduates of Tiwi Community College, we should have the value of integrity, we should be as
hard as nails on standards of excellence and value you should hold on to certain values tenaciously and set out to build a group who in like manner are
persons who share these values.

3. THE VALUE OF DISCIPLINE- as educators of Tiwi Community College, we should be affectionate to our students since oftentimes it leads to
disciplinary problems. Teachers are said to be disciplinarians when they can plan a students discipline from all angles and see to it that the plan is carried
out until the desired results have been attained. Teaching the student what he must do and what he must not do or what we call the educational aspect plays
a big role giving reward for doing the right thing can also help. Discipline based on temper tends to be associated with undesirable outcomes. The main
purpose of discipline is primarily to develop a well-balanced mind. Lastly, a well-disciplined school is a place where consideration for the feelings and
rights of others is observed with such as well disciplined home, every individual will positively develop mental health.
4. EXCELLENCE- means living a life of exemplary integrity by cultivating an upright conscience that impresses on him/ her imperative e to positively
contribute to the economic stability/sustainability and social development of the country and the rest of the world.

5. LEADERSHIP- as graduates of Tiwi Community College you participated actively in the life of society and the global community and graces in the
consciousness of his/her dignity and personal purpose in engaging the world.

BSED/BEED PROGRAM OUTCOME:


a. Graduates of the BEED/BSED programs are teachers who can demonstrate in depth understanding of child and adolescent learners.
b. Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of various learning areas in the elementary and in the secondary curriculum.
c. Create and utilize materials appropriate to the elementary and secondary level to enhance teaching and learning process.
d. Design and implement assessment tools and procedure to measure elementary/secondary learning outcome.

Graduates of BSED programs are teachers who;
1. Have a deep and principled understanding of a wide range of teaching process ( including curriculum development, lesson planning, materials development,
educational assessment, and teaching approaches ) and the role of the teacher in facilitating this processes in their student ; ( cognitive knowledge)
2. Have creativity and innovation in applying alternative teaching approaches/ strategies while demonstrating basic higher level literacy, communication,
numeracy, critical thinking and learning skills needed for higher learning in diverse types of learning environment. ( psychomotor skills )
3. Can demonstrate and practice the professional and ethical requirements of the teaching profession ( affective/ values )

Under the College new grading system, letter grades are assigned according to a seven level scale with the indicated point values and descriptions. These are:

WP - the student withdrew from the course prior to two weeks before the Pre-final examination according to the date set by the school and with
permission from his/her parent and teacher as shown in the withdrawal slip submitted by the student to the Office of the Registrar.
INC - the student has not fulfilled the course requirements within the semester. It is a temporary grade which obliges the student to complete the
requirement until before the midterm examination of the next semester.

COURSE POLICY:
All major exams ( Prelims, Midterms and Final ) must be taken during the term.
Absences should be minimized ( 4 consecutive absences or 20% absences during the term will automatically receive as failing grade )
Failure to submit academic requirements, such as compiled activities and projects will be result in conditional grade. Failure to submit after
the final will automatically result in failing grade.
Poor performance in class discussion and non-participation in class activities especially in hands on will be considered as non interest in
the course and will gravely affect the grade of the student.
