Literacy: Objectives

Given a verbal prompt to produce the sound of a specific letter of the alphabet, Layla will

demonstrate understanding of letter sound awareness by producing the correct sound with

100% accuracy in 3 out of 3 trials.

Procedures- Teacher will randomly point to a letter from the alphabet on a worksheet and ask

student to name the letter and produce the sound. This will be done for the entire alphabet.

Accuracy will be recorded using event recording as she responds.

Materials- Worksheet with alphabet, recording sheet, pencil.

Given a list of 20 c/v/c words, Layla will demonstrate understanding of basic word families and

patterns by correctly reading c/v/c words ending with at, an and ap sounds with 90% accuracy in

2 out of 3 trials.

Procedures- Teacher will ask student to read previously reviewed words from the Hooked-on-

Phonics work book. As student reads the words, teacher will record accuracy using event

recording.

Materials- Hooked on Phonics work book, recording sheet, pencil.

Given a list of sight words, Layla will recognize and read a minimum of 9 out of 10 high

frequency sight words practiced in class in 2 out 3 trials.


Procedures- Teacher will write one sight word in each index card and ask student to read them

as teacher goes through the stack of index cards. Accuracy will be recorded using event

recording.

Materials- Recording sheet, pencil, Index cards, sight words list.

Given a sight word, Layla will orally give a sentence for each of the 10 sight words with 100%

accuracy in 3 out of 3 trials.

Procedures- Teacher will verbally give student a word and ask student to orally use the word in

a sentence. Teacher will record accuracy as student responds using event recording.

Materials- Recording sheet, pencil, list of sight words.

Writing: Objectives

Given a writing assignment on lined paper, Layla will begin a sentence with a capital letter and

only use lower case letters in the rest of a sentence, without receiving any prompts with 90%

accuracy in 3 out of 3 trials.

Procedures- Teacher will review completed assignment and use event recording to record

accuracy.

Materials- Pencils, recording sheet, teacher given assignments, lined paper.

Given a writing assignment, Layla will leave a finger space between each word without receiving

any prompts when copying from the white board or completing a sentence stem. The task will

be completed with 100% accuracy in 3 out 3trials.

Procedures- During teacher given assignments, teacher will observe student copy from board

and complete sentences. As student writes each word, teacher will be recoding for accuracy

using event recording.

Materials- Recording sheet, pencil, teacher given assignments, lined paper.


Given a writing assignment, Layla will write a period at the end of each sentence for four

consecutive sentences without receiving any prompts with 100% accuracy in 3 out 3trials.

Procedures- Teacher will record accuracy as student completes assignment. Accuracy will be

recorded using event recording.

Materials- Recording sheet, pencils, lined paper.

Given lined paper, Layla will write all letters on the line and avoid writing floating letters with

90% accuracy in 2 out of 3 trials.

Procedure- Teacher will record accuracy as student completes writing assignment using event

recording.

Materials- Recording sheet, pencils, lined paper, writing assignments.

Mathematics: Objectives

Layla will demonstrate understanding of the commutative rule of addition by independently

finding all the different sums of a number by applying the commutative rule of addition for four

numbers on a worksheet with 80% accuracy in 2 out of 3 trials.

Procedures- The teacher will provide Layla with a worksheet and manipulatives. The teacher will

read instructions aloud to Layla and observe as she completes the problems. Accuracy will be

recorded as she completes the problems using event recording.

Materials- Recording sheet, pencils, worksheets, manipulatives, scrap paper, crayons.

Presented with two different sets of manipulatives, Layla will apply the concept of

subtraction to find the difference in numeric value between the two sets with 4 out of 5

times in 3 out of 3 trials.


Procedures- The teacher will provide Layla with two different sets of manipulatives, and

Layla will verbalize how much fewer one set is compared to the other. As Layla answers

each question the teacher will use event recording to record accuracy.

Materials- manipulatives, recording sheet, pencil.

Given a worksheet with 10 number sentences without a +, -, or = sign, Layla will use the

right symbol to complete the number sentence with 90% accuracy in 3out of 3 trials.

Procedure- The teacher will provide Layla with a worksheet with 10 problems. Teacher

will read instructions aloud for Layla and record accuracy as she completes the

problems. Event recording will be used to record accuracy.

Materials- recording sheet, pencils, manipulatives, crayons, worksheet.

Given a worksheet with four word problems, Layla will use correct operation when

solving each word problem with 90% accuracy in 3 out of 3 trials.

Procedure- Teacher will read word problems aloud for Layla; and Layla will choose an

operation and solve the problem on the worksheet using manipulatives or drawing

counters. Teacher will re-read problem as needed. Accuracy will be recorded as student

completes each problem. Event recording will be used to record accuracy.

Materials- recording sheet, pencils, worksheets, manipulatives, crayons.

Reading Objectives

Layla will make predictions using illustrations and text as clues when listening to a 1st

grade level text being read aloud to her with 100% accuracy in 3 out 3 trials.
Procedures- Teacher will read a story aloud to Layla and ask her to verbally predict what

she thinks is going to happen next in the story on two different points in the story.

Teacher will record accuracy as student responds using event recording.

Materials- Recording sheet, pencil, story book.

Having a 1st grade level text read aloud to her, Layla will verbally answer 5 wh and how

questions once the story has ended with 100% accuracy in 2 out of 3 trials.

Procedures- Teacher will read a story aloud to Layla and ask her 5 questions once story

is over. Teacher will record accuracy as student responds using event recording.

Materials- story book, recording sheet, pencil.

Given a graphic organizer Layla will sequence a story read aloud to her in order,

beginning, middle and end with 100% accuracy in 3 out of 3 trials.

Procedure- Teacher will read a story aloud to Layla and provide her with a graphic

organizer for her to sequence the story. The teacher will read instructions aloud to

student. Accuracy will be recorded as student completes the assignment using event

recording.

Given 4 questions about a story read aloud to Layla, Layla will locate information within

a story to answer literal questions with 75% accuracy in 3 out of 3 trials.

Procedure- Teacher will read a story aloud alongside Layla. Once story has ended the

teacher will ask student 4 literal questions about the text and have her locate where in

the text she is recalling information form. Accuracy will be recorded as student responds

questions using event recording.

Materials- Recording sheet, pencil, story book.
