Throughout this course, I have learned many new technological tools to facilitate the

learning process. Because we are in a generation of advanced technologies, future

educators should be prepared for using those tools. In general, technologies changed

teaching and learning in five ways: simplifying class preparation, upgrading assessment,

encouraging collaboration, inspiring interactivity and breaking limitation of the classroom.

First of all, the most apparent advantage of technology is that it breaks traditional

blackboard and walls of a classroom. There is a new pathway created by technological

devices between home and school because students can use them to research specific topics,

share their opinions and even learn skills. Secondly, the educational software, apps and any

visual presentations of class materials on the screen displays all motivated students to learn.

In fact, students no longer need to sit in the library to find books or share feedbacks by
writing down on papers but online. Thirdly, technologies are the keys to enable students to

facilitate collaborative learning. Tools such as Smart Notebook not only allow students to

contribute and share their works in front of the class but also enable teachers to work with

them together for solving problems. Fourthly, technology ensures teachers to create

flexible assessments to support the competencies and skills of their students. Tools such as

Kahoot and Quizlet provide the feedbacks and reflection from the class. They determine

students understanding whether certain topics may need to be further explained or not.

Lastly but most importantly, the introduction of advanced technologies enhances teachers

preparation of class lessons. There are many visual learning tools designed to provide a

substantial level of support for teachers to engage interactive learning. Overall, the digital

generation changed education in a way which students are becoming more independent.
