8 Ball Pool - Applying Physics to the Game

Three ways an object can accelerate

You can see in the gif above that the ball are all rapidly speeding up due to the
force put on them by the white ball. They are all accelerating in different
directions by all the balls hitting the balls beside them. As a result, many of them
hit the side walls and slow down, eventually to a stop.
You can see that after the white ball hits the purple ball, it is initially sped up
quickly, but after it rolls around and hits the wall, the ball begins to slow down, or
decelerate, eventually coming to a stop.

Here, the white ball hits the purple then the red ball, changing their direction by
knocking them up against the wall. The red first goes downward, but is then met
up by the wall and reflects, going upward.
