Re : Appeal for baby Swathi’s rare disease treatment funding

Good day to you.

With such a heavy heart, regret to inform that our beloved 8 months old daughter, Swathi
Nisha Nair, has been diagnosed with a rare disease, Infantile onset Pompe Disease. She
also been diagnosed with Hypertrophic dilated cardiomyopathy in (heart) failure.

2. Currently there isn't any cure for Pompe disease. The only treatment vailable is Enzyme
Replacement Therapy which has to be taken biweekly and for Swathi’s lifelong. Cost of
this treatment is exteremly high and it isn‘t covered by insurance.

3. Swathi have started her ERT treatment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, under supervision of
Dr. Ngu Lock Hock. I have attached together with this letter, written details by Dr. Ngu
Lock Hock on Swathi‘s medical condition as well as estimated annual treatment cost. This
cost will increase eventually per Swathi’s weight gain along the way. Due to her current
heart failure state, Swathi is undergoing weekly ERT treatment.

4. With my wife Prema Latha have resigned from her job to take care of the baby full
time, I‘m became the sole bread-winner for 6 family members at our home.

5. Hereby, I would like to humbly seek your kindest help for financial aid to support
Swathi‘s ongoing medical treatment.
