Game of the Fillennials

I. Background of the game

The old Filipino slangs are having a comeback, with new additions. This game is
developed to highlight all these new millennial terms being used by Filipinos today.
Some of the famous terms used are werpa which came from the word “power”, petmalu
from “malupet”, and lodi from the word “idol”. The mechanics of the game is inspired
by South Korea’s 007 Bang and China’s Captain Hook which are drinking games.

II. Players: 6-12 persons composed of girls and boys, ages 12-15.

III. Setting: Indoors

IV. Props: None.

V. Pre-game
a. Ground preparation: None
b. Formation: The players shall form a circle while sitting on the ground.

c. Assignment of Roles
1. Lodi – the last person to be pointed at in one round of a game
2. Orbs – the players beside the Lodi
d. Deciding of Turns
The player who will start the game will be selected by chanting No-si no-si mu-la-si,
wer-pa wer-pa re-pa-pips while one volunteer is pointing at the players (including
himself) one by one. Later on, the last player who did the action correctly before the
eliminated player will be doing the chant while pointing at all the players one by one
(including himself), in order to choose the next player to start the game. In case of
two players, they need to play rock, paper, and scissors to identify the one or the loser
who will be doing the chant.
Objectives of Roles
1. Lodi – wears a crown above his head yet stays humble
2. Orbs – present the Lodi to the public by cheering and waving their hands at him

VI. Movements
a. At the signal of the facilitator…
1. The starting player will say “ay” while pointing to the 2nd player.
2. The 2nd player will say “pet” while pointing to the 3rd player.
3. The 3rd player will say “ma” while pointing to the 4th player.
4. The 4th player will say “lu” while pointing to another player.
5. The person who is the last one to be pointed at (Lodi) should stay silent and poses
as if he/she is putting a crown above his/her head; whereas, the players on his/her
both sides (Orbs) will wave their hands at him/her while saying “lodi lodi lodi
lodi”.
6. If the Lodi and the Orbs accomplished the task correctly, then the game will
continue with the Lodi as the starting player to point at another player while
saying “ay”.
b. However, if the Orbs were not able to wave their hands while saying “lodi lodi lodi
lodi”, then they will receive a punishment. Same goes with the Lodi, he/she will be
eliminated from the game if he/she failed to pose as if putting a crown above his head
or if he/she produced any sound.
c. Multiple winners are allowed in the game. The players can have an agreement on the
number of players that will remain and be considered as winners for the game to end.
