Do you enjoy watching sad scenes? Why?

No because some actors have ugly crying faces. e.g the crying face meme from Dawson's Creek.

yes i like to cry

1/16/2018 9:37 AM

Yes - having varying emotions throughout the film causes one to connect with the characters more.

1/15/2018 4:12 PM

No Because it’s sad

1/14/2018 8:38 PM

Yes, make me emotional

Yes as like all emotions to be experienced

1/14/2018 7:58 AM

Don’t mind if realistic

No, sometimes to close to hometruths

1/13/2018 10:30 PM
Yes and no! I do because sometimes I need a cry and it can make you appreciate life. As I've got
children now I can't watch sad scenes involving them

1/13/2018 10:21 PM

Yes, if in context of the storyline

1/13/2018 9:11 PM

No

1/13/2018 9:03 PM

I love them if they have a happy ending afterwards, sad scenes that you can relate to can really make
you feel something and you can relate to the characters, they make you think.

1/13/2018 8:36 PM

I adore watching sad scenes, when carried out successfully and with significant build up/reasoning
watching other people at their lowest is an incredible way to empathise and affect an audiences
emotional response, even if they're aware it's total fiction.

1/13/2018 2:07 PM

What a poorly worded question. Do I empathise with a character once I have got to know them in a
piece or drama? Depends if the plot is predictable. If character is ill and is going to die then no as
that is obvious and cheap

1/12/2018 11:39 PM

No. Reminds me of my pet rabbit dying

1/12/2018 10:00 PM

Yes because I can get my tissues out

1/12/2018 9:03 PM

Feels real

1/12/2018 9:00 PM

Yes because it is part of life

1/12/2018 8:48 PM

yes as it can sometimes be relatable to you or your friends and it's kind of nice to see that if it's in a
tv show it must be because it happens to others too

1/12/2018 6:52 PM

Yes. I like old films like ‘Brief Encounter’

1/12/2018 6:45 PM

No bothered

1/12/2018 6:42 PM
Sometimes when “sad” makes you cry I end up laughing at myself for crying

1/12/2018 5:50 PM

Yh makes everything emotional

1/12/2018 5:41 PM

No sad enough already

1/12/2018 5:04 PM

Yes

1/12/2018 5:00 PM

Yes, sad scenes often help connect the viewer with a character, or characters. Tragedy helps bring
the audience to empathise with a character and relate their experiences to the scene.

1/12/2018 11:40 AM

Not really, they make me cry

1/12/2018 11:26 AM

Yes I enjoy all emotions

1/11/2018 10:56 PM

Yeah there's lots of emotion, but it really depends on if they're sad over something cliche or not.

1/11/2018 8:34 PM

If its part of the film yes

1/11/2018 3:46 PM

Yes because I'm a sad person myself.

1/11/2018 2:33 PM

Yes and no I like they way they are set out and seem so real but no because they are sad and to think
people are really going though stuff like that

1/11/2018 10:41 AM

I don't like crying when watching a film because it unsettles me.

1/11/2018 10:38 AM

Yes because it makes you able to put yourself in the characters position and makes you think “What
if that was me?”

1/11/2018 10:37 AM
