Dheeraj is a convict in a rape that shooked India on

the night of 21 September 2014. He became the hot topic
for senstaional news channels and had a regular
presence in newspapers.Women's agitation for stricter
laws for rape also got covered in news for that. Later
he was sentenced to death.
Sheena has recently joined the office of thewire.in and
want to make her name in the journalism and he got the
opportunity of interviewing Dheeraj a week before his
execution.
Present scene is the day when he is about to meet
Sheena.

INT. CELL IN A PRISON MORNING HOURS

We see a the wall of the prison filled with newspaper

cutting and wall grafitti.We have an impression of a man
sitting in the room as the light is unevenly falling on him.

We see someone's shadow falling on the floor coming to the

window.

HAWALDAR
(In a loud tone)
Tayyar Hoja. Aa gayi teri
jouurnalist.

We see a fan moving slowly. Two eyes are watching something

above. The atmosphere of the room is quite. The commode and
drinking water jug reveals the geography of the place.

DHEERAJ
(In an uncertain voice)
Janna Kya chahti hai vo mujhse?
Aisa kya interesting hai mere case
mein.

We see the table and mirror on the wall.

DHEERAJ
Puchhegi us Din Kya hua? Us din kya
hua ye kisko nahi pata.

He starts shaving his face. We see his mid shot as a

reflection on the mirror.

DHEERAJ
Ustra itna bahar rahe to shave hota
hai. Isse zyada andar chala jaye to
khoon khoon ho jata hai. Us raat
bhi to farsh lal lal ho gaya tha.
Mujhe kya malum tha vo itna
jhatpayegi to chaku andar tak chala
jaega.

He wipes his face, combs his hairs with hands and stand in
front of the window as he get ready for the meeting.We see
him sitting on a chair thinking something and hear the tik
tok sound of the chair.

DHEERAJ
Roz us ladke se milne ke bad mujhse
hi kar ke jaya karti thi. Us din
mujhe light katne ke bahane upar
bulaya. Shayad aaj vo ladka aya
nahi. Maine to usko sirf company
dena chahta tha. Shayad mujhe thik
se samajh nahi payi. Main to usse
pyar karta tha aur pyar mein sab
jayaz hai.

Wee see the legs of chair moving fastly.

DHEERAJ
(Sarcastically)
Ye journalist mujhse ye janna
chahti hai ki maine use mara kyun
ya ye sabko ye dikhana chahti hai
ki ek marta hua rapist kya sochta
hai. Khair logon ko bhi to crime ke
bare mein janna hi to pasand hai.

We hear the sound of lock upening as the screen goes dark

and we hear him coming out of the cell.
