“CHARADE”

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This activity is planned by the teacher trainee of IPGKTAR English Language

Society. This paperwork aims to propose to the administration board of SK Dato’
Traoh, Kota Samarahan of the English Language Society to organise a Charade
competition as one of the programmes organised during the English Language
Week that we planned to be held from 14th August to 18th July 2017. This
competition will be conducted for the pupils from Year 3 to Year 5 in three stages. A
total of 50 participation is expected from the pupils. For a Malaysian classroom, this
activity is not something new. Nevertheless, it is interesting yet challenging but
applicable. This charade focuses on the usage of Total Physical Response (TPR) in
which the pupils’ kinaesthetic skill is involved. According to James Asher, the
advocate of TPR, a child can learn vocabularies through relating verbal instructions
or words with physical movements. This activity also builds pupils’ confidence in
applying their English vocabularies knowledge apart from enriching it to complete
the task. All in all, this activity is beneficial for the pupils as the vocabularies they
learnt in this activity is applicable in their daily life.

2.0 AIMS

To enrich and enhance the pupils’ mastery of vocabularies through fun and
meaningful physical actions.

3.0 OBJECTIVES

There are a few objectives that we would like to achieve while conducting this
activity. The objectives are as follow:
