“ Tribute to the Teacher”
A proposed Teachers Deped night to the teachers of Bawing General Santos City. Every year
we celebrate Teachers Month from September 5- October 5 all over the world to recognize their
contributions in shaping the lives of the people. A tribute for making us civilize, gave us
knowledge of things that they don’t know before, transformed to become more knowledgeable
persons that they have now and shaped them to become better models of the future.

IX. Description:
Every year we celebrate Teachers month. A month dedicated to teachers and
their contributions in shaping one’s life. It commemorates the birth anniversary of
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a Bharat Ratna recipient and the first Vice President
and second President of independent India. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on
September 5, 1888.
A revered academician, he was one of India’s most distinguished twentieth
century scholars of comparative religion and philosophy. The author of the
Philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore, Dr. Radhakrishnan had a master’s degree in
philosophy and was responsible for attracting global attention to Indian philosophy.
In the Philippines, why Filipino celebrate Teachers Day is to appreciate the
contributions of the teachers in molding the mind of youth because our teachers are
more than our educators. It is a noble profession because they played many roles in
a student’s life, a mentor, a friend, advisor, a councilor and a parent. They are the
guiding force in our life even after we have passed the portals of the academe and
stepped into the world of realities and challenges. Our Teachers are always there to
hold the light that will guide us through our successes; and even our failures in life.
