1. Create a new project 1600 x 1200 and fill it with f2902d color. Adjust Letter Spacing to
25.0, then create your Text; I’m using Fertigo Pro with the size of 400px and use color
black. Center your text, then right click on your text on the Layers dialog and select Layer
to Image size.
2. Create a New transparent layer and grab the Rectangle Select tool, then create a selection
from the Top of the canvas to the Bottom on any vertical letter for example; I picked the
letter “E” to select how wide I want the vertical selection to be.(see illustration).
3. Go to do Select>To Path, then Select>None. After that go to the Layers dialog and select
the Path tabs and (click on the eye)to make the Paths visible

4. For the text I’m working with, I duplicate the Paths 12 times and you can simply do it by
clicking the Duplicate button at the bottom of your Paths dialog.
5. Go and click on the Move tool and on the options Tool Toggle check the Move the Active
Path. Starting from the top Paths, Highlight the top Paths, then click on the first Paths we
created on the canvas and move your paths to the left or the right to place it on the tips or
the accents of the letters. Then Highlight the second Paths from the top click on the first
Paths we created on the canvas and move your paths to the left or the right and so on… If
you’re skilled Artist, just pick up the Paths and place them on the spots or use your
Keyboard Arrows bottom to move the Paths more accurate. See illustration.
6. Grab the Bucket tool and make sure your Foreground color is black and check Fill
Whole Selection button. Once again Highlight the top Path and Right click, then select,
Path to Selection and fill selection with black. Do this with the rest of the Paths until you
have all those lines filled. Select>None.
7. We just this the most complicated part of this Tutorial. Click on eye of every Paths to
make it invisibles.
8. Go back to the Layers dialog, Rename the layer to “Lines” , then place it under the Text
layer. We’re going to work on the Text and the Line layers and we will use some Filters
from Layer>Layer Effect plugin to create the effects. Change the Foreground color to
5f001f and the Background color to 8e082c.

First Highlight the Text layer, then go to Colors>Levels and follow the settings. Use the
same setting for the Lines layer.
9. Go to Layers>Layer Effects>Stroke and apply the settings for both layers
10. Layers>Layer Effects>Drop Shadow First step
11. Layers>Layer Effects>Drop Shadow Second step. The only thing that change is the
Angle from> -180 to 0, to have the create the shadow all around the Text and on both sides
of the Lines
12. Highlight the Text later, then grab the Fuzzy select tool, then adjust the Threshold to 40
and Highlight the inside of your first Text Letters. Now Holding the Shift key on your
Keyboard click on the inside of the rest of the letters.

13. Grab the Gradient tool (make sure your Foreground is 8e082c) click from top and drag
to bottom on the Canvas, to create a gradient.
14. Create a New transparent layer and change the Foreground/Background colors to Vivid
dark colors. Use the Hardness 100 Brush to paint the inside of the letters. This are the ones
I used: First letter>026800, Second>2e0068, Third> cc0000, Forth> 730424 and
Fifth>804800. Select>None.

15. Now click on the Lines layer and use the Fuzzy select tool, just like we did before. Click
the first one and hold Shift to select the rest of the letters, and fill your Lines with 8e082c.
16. Create a New transparent layer on top of the Lines layer and basically we’re going to do
the same process, but this time with the Lines and to the letter, it corresponds.
Highlight the Lines layer. Use the same colors according to the letter
that correspond.

The following steps are for Both Layers

Merge the Text color layer with the Text layer

and the Lines color layer with the Line layer.
16. Select>None, then change the Layers Mode for the Text and the Lines layer to Grain
Extract and you see a new set of nice colors. After that, we want to create a nice 3d and
Glossy effect. Go to Layer>Layer Effects>Inner Shadow(Use default value)
Apply to both layers
17. Layer>Layer Effects>Inner Glow(use default value) Apply to both layers
18. Layer>Layer Effects>Bevel and Emboss. Apply to both layers
19. Last Steps. Merge the Text and the Lines layers, then create a New Transparent layer
and take the Ellipse Select tool. On the options click Replace the Current selection, then
Zoom out the Canvas to 33% and Create a selection, half in the middle of the Text. See
illustration.

20. Grab the Gradient tool, the change the Foreground to white and make sure is
Foreground to Transparent. Drag the Gradient from North to South to create the gradient
on the Text, then Layer Mode to Overlay and change the opacity to 60. We’re finish.
