(Great Places to Visit)
Yung Shih Lee, the editor of National Geographic Taiwan was asked, “what are the best
places to visit in your area of the world?” He prefers five best places to visit.

Shih-lin Night Market


Shih-lin market is located at the center of Taiwanese, where people come here for shopping
and show-up to have a snack or drink. It is different from other markets basically life is starting
at 6 p.m. and can go until there in the morning.

Taroko Gorge
The name “Taroko Gorge” is a combination of two words. Tarako means ‘beautiful’ and
Gorge means ‘narrow between two mountains’. It is about 12-mile (30-minute) bus tour to see
the natural wonder and enjoy the scenic views of the Taroko Gorge.

Lan Yu (Orchid Island)


This island is preserved by native Yami people. It is about 60 KM southeast of Taiwan. Visitor
can stay there in hotel or arrange to stay in a Yami family’s home.

Taipei 101
One of the impressive and exiting sight in Taiwan is the Taipei 101.The construction of Taipei
101 was completed in 2004. It is the second tallest building in the world and it’s about 509
meters tall. It is designed on the basis of Chinese culture and also Taipei 101 is safe and strong
against earthquakes.
