INTRODUCTION

 Here we maintain the information about furniture . It

helps the customer to select the product.

 We have tried to maintain all those information of

furniture which is easily understandable to the
customers .’customer can select the product of his own
choice

 Our system provides the facility to customer get

product without west their time and quickly gets
information.

 to providing good services . The project “furniture

shop management system” is a total package for a
furniture store

4
EXISTING SYSTEM

 Existing system also require much more papers and

files work

 It is time consuming system.

 System has no manage each record individually.

 In manual system bill . are handed over the customer

after they are handwritten if there are many bills to be

pro duce then this process becomes harder to carried out.

 In existing system a retrieve information a particular record

all record have to be search which consume to much time

also for preparing a particular record have to be search in

various registers.

5
 Unauthorized or illegal user can access, manipulate , update

or delete information . Hence security level is very poor in

the existing system.

 Process is slow.

PROBLEM DEFINITION

In most furniture shops records are written in registers, this type of

storage of data becomes difficult & needs to prevent from any damage.
furniture shop management system provides facility to the shopkeeper to
maintain all info in a computerized manner. There is complete
information about the various furniture so that the customer will get the
total information about the furniture product.
Here new customers are registered who want to purchase furniture.
Supplier who supply furniture are also store in the database.
Hence this system helps the user to do his work in a more efficient
manner. Calculation of bill is also provided which also is stored in
computer.

6
Need for Computerization

It was decided to computerize the system in order to overcome the

following problems

 To avoid process of manual data entries and bill generating.

 Manual data entries and bill generating customer has to wait

for long time for further process.

 Maintaining the paper bills and keeping them safe from

any damage gets difficult sometimes.

 Using computers makes it easy to store all records of bill and

access info about any previous bill.

 Updating any info about any furniture becomes easy like

adding, removing etc.

7
Scope Of the System:

The scope of the system is as follows:

 Shopkeeper can get information about furniture.

 You can see the showcase for various type of furniture.

 We are also providing the facility for maintaining furniture

product records.

 Shopkeeper can purchase furniture from different

suppliers.

8
Objectives Of the System:

The objectives of the system are as follows:

1] To main objective of our system is to reduce human work and to

make all the records computerized.

2] To reduce paper work.

3] To provide security .

4] Automation:
The Furniture System automates each and
every activity of the manual system and increases its throughput
.Thus the response time of the system is very less and it works
very fast.

5] Accuracy:
The Furniture System provides the uses a quick
Response with very accurate information regarding the user
etc. Any details or system in an accurate manner, as and when
required.

6] User-Friendly:

9
The software Furniture System has a very user-
friendly interface.

7] Availability:
The transaction reports of the system can be
retried as and when required. Thus, there is no delay in the
availability of any information, whatever needed, can be
captured very quickly and easily

Fact Finding Techniques

To design the system or to solve any problem related to the system

we must study the system deeply. To get deeper knowledge about
system we should examine the existing system many times, ask
question to different uses, get info about the new changes related to
system etc.

 Interview:
Interviews are useful in collecting data information from
individuals or groups. Asking about details of how user handles the
system, get accurate information about records, how the work is
conducted, what are the requirements to the different users.

Did u understand the system well?

Is it user friendly for the new user?
Did the system satisfy your needs?
What about Quality of the system?

 Observation:
10
We studied the existing system in its operational mode, for
which we had to prepare requisition notes, reports etc. The
onsite observation helps us to understand the flow of present
system.
We get the information about system which helps us to
understand the system. We have studied different product &
customer details, manuals, different reports, and different forms
etc. and get more knowledge about the existing system.

 Questionnaire:
This technique is used in the form of a specific format of
questions queried to a large number of customers. By questioning
to different customers we get the answers for queries in our mind.
The success of collecting data through a questionnaire helps
to design furniture Shop system. The open response questionnaires
are used to learn about the opinion, feeling and general experience
about the whole process. Questionnaires are give what are most
important needs for manager that a new System should satisfy. We
get to know what kind of system today market prefers. Users have
now become very choosy & perfect they want everything new and
the system that provides them with almost everything.

11
FEASIBILITY STUDY

Feasibility study is conducted to investigate whether it is

feasible to develop the proposed system. A feasibility study is
undertaken to determine the possibility or probability of either
improving the existing system or developing a completely new
system. The feasibility study is needed to-Determine the
potential of the existing system. To know what should be
embedded in the new system. To answer the question whether
a new system is installed or not.The feasibility study is carried
out considering the operational, technical and economical
feasibility

1. Operational feasibility:-

A system is said to be operational feasible if

it is capable of helping the user to work efficiently
without any interruption throughout the operation. It also
checks whether it is feasible for user department to
operate the software or will there be any resistance from
user department. No specific training is required to use
the project .The system is user friendly and hence there
will be no problem for the user to carry out jobs. Hence
the system is operationally feasible.

12
2. Technical feasibility:-

Technical feasibility is conducted to determine

whether the project can be developed with the present
equipment, current procedures, existing software technology
and available personnel. The hardware and software required
to run this project is easily available and thus the project is
technically feasible

3. Economical feasibility:-
The economical feasibility is an estimation of
development cost weighed against the ultimate income or
benefit derived from the developed system. Since new
hardware or software is not required, the system is
economically feasible.
