MODUL: 2
 A very good morning to my english teacher, Puan Hapsah and to all my
fellow friends. Today i would like to share my ideas on sport as a vehicle for
peace.Sports promotes international understanding and peace because it is
universal.It is a means of broadening the mind and increasing copperation and
friendship between nation.For example,Olympics,SEA Games,Thomas
Cup,Formula 1 and not forgetting FIFA World Cup.There are few objective
about Peace and Sport.

One of it is convincing world leaders by increasing goverments and

political decision makers awareness of the significant interest of sport used as
vehicle for peace, both in preventing and solving the multiplicity of potential
and existing crisis situation in the world.Besides that, it can incite the
international sporting community to act beyond its traditional field of operations
and actively contribute to peace.Moreover, it involves inernational corperation
to grow the role of sports in corporate social responsibility policies,encourage
support for local develop and implement concrete and efficient Local- Based
Projects, in sensitive areas around the world.

Peace and sport brings together all international and national players
involved at the highest level.It establish a hub of exchange and covergence
between goverment,political leaders,world sport governance bodies,international
organization,NGO’s,athletes,sports experts and corporation to create a synergy
between their projects,their thinking and their efforts.Infact,Nelson Mandela’s
averment that sports can change the world holds mucg ideological sway,
supported by the United Nation Inter –Agency Task Force on Sports for
Development and Peace,which articulate a strategy for sport’s contribution
especially to peace.Indeed,former United Nation Secretary-General Kofi Annan
once commented that he was interested in the power of football to teach life long
lessons about playing against others as rivals not enemies. The sentiment has
been enchoed by FIFA(Federation International de Football Association)
President Joseph S.Blatter, who claimed that the game had been developed and
taken to the world and now it is time to use football to make the world a better
place to live.These are the ideas that i wanted to share with everyone mainly
about sports as a vehicle for peace.Therefore,I presume all of you are clear about
what actually sports do for the world. Thank you.
