If oil (ν = 4 × 10-5 m2/s; S = 0.9) flows from the upper to the lower reservoir at a rate of 0.028 m3/s in the 15
cm smooth pipe.
(i) What is the elevation of the oil surface in the upper reservoir?
(ii) Recalculate (i) using galvanized iron pipe!
(iii) What is the dominant head loss in this problem (pipe or components)?

(A) Define the following terms:
i- Stagnation enthalpy ii- Mach number iii- Supersonic flow
(B) A normal shock wave occurs in air flowing at a Mach number of 1.5.
(i) Find the change in entropy across the wave.
(ii) Find the velocity of sound before and after the shock wave if T2 = 400 K.
