To Whom It May Concern:

This letter will serve as a recommendation for Miss Jacqueline Paxson in support of her candidacy for professional
employment. I have had the privilege of teaching Miss Paxson in three undergraduate Early Childhood/Special
Education courses offered at Neumann University. I have also served as her supervisor during student teaching.
She is an outstanding student and an excellent candidate for a teaching position.

As a student in EDU 230, Introduction to Exceptionalities, SPEC 222, Learning Disabilities, and SPEC 310,
Inclusive Education, Miss Paxson performed high quality work. She is impressive as a conscientious and hard-
working individual who is committed to becoming an excellent teacher. She demonstrates an understanding of
typical and atypical child development, has dedicated specific study to the field of learning disabilities, and has
displayed an ability to adapt and modify instruction for students enrolled in inclusive settings. Furthermore, she has
applied her skills in a variety of field placements in which she has served children with special needs.

During student teaching, Miss Paxson performed exceptional work within a first grade inclusion class. Her
cooperating teacher has noted, “Jackie conducts herself with a high level of professionalism. She is very
knowledgeable and understanding of first grade learning outcomes.” Miss Paxson’s evaluation report contains the
following comment: “Miss Paxson displays an excellent work ethic, demonstrates high quality planning and
instructional skills, and interacts well with her cooperating teacher and members of the school staff.” She is to be
commended for her outstanding work during student teaching.

In addition to her professional preparation, Miss Paxson has been recognized for academic excellence at Neumann
through her appointment to the Dean’s List every semester, and through her participation in the University’s Honors
Program. She has served in three leadership roles within this organization. Miss Paxson has also developed an
article that will be published in the undergraduate research journal at Neumann, and has made presentations at the
SEPCHE Honors Conference, a program which recognizes exceptional scholarship by undergraduates at several
regional universities.

Her involvement in campus and service activities has included membership in the Knights for Education, an
organization of Education students who sponsor activities such as Breakfast with Santa and Bubbles for Autism.
Miss Paxson has further enhanced her professional development through her service as a Teaching Fellow as she has
worked with a faculty member at Neumann in supporting the growth of fellow undergraduate students.

Upon graduation in May, 2018, Miss Paxson will have completed all undergraduate coursework necessary for
certification in the areas of PreK – 4 and Special Education. She is a thoughtful, caring, and conscientious
individual who is committed to her professional development through her undergraduate studies. She is an
outstanding representative of Neumann University’s Early Elementary/Special Education teacher preparation
program. I am pleased to offer a recommendation on behalf of Miss Paxson in support of her candidacy for
professional employment.

Sincerely,

Daniel McKee
