MUHAMMAD IN THE BIBLE

"And I (Jesus) will pray the Father (God), and he shall give you another Comforter (Prophet), that he may
abide with you for ever;" [John 14:16 KJV Bible]

"And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: 'O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you,
confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of a Messenger to come after me,
whose name shall be Ahmad' (Muhammad)..." [Qur'an 61:6]

The meaning of the name Muhammad is that person who is most worthy of being praised in the entire
creation of Allah (The Praised One). The name Ahmad means, ( ‫ ) احمدالحامدين لربه‬the most praising of the
Creator Allah Azza Wa Jal.

Jubair bin Muth’im relates: The Prophet said: ‘I have five names, I am ‫( محمد‬Muhammad), I am ‫( حمد‬Ahmad), I
am ‫( ماحى‬Mahi) The One to remove disbelief, I am ‫( حاشر‬Hashir) The Imam of creation on theplain of Hashr, I
am ‫( عاقب‬Aaqib) ‫ اناالعاقب الذى ليس بعدى نبى‬the One who comes after all Prophets and after Whom there is no
Prophet to come’. (Sahih Bukhari/ Sahih Muslim)

Jesus said, "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the
Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will
reprove (discipline) the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not
on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the
prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit
when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for
he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I,
that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you." [John 16:6-16 KJV]

"He, Muhammad, does not speak of his own desire, it is only a revelation revealed." [Qur'an 53:3]

"Beloved, believe not every spirit (Prophet), but try the spirits (Prophets) whether they are of God: because
many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit (Prophet) of God: Every spirit
(Prophet) that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit (Prophet) that
confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit (Prophet) of
antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." [1 John 4:1-3
KJV]

"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put My words in his
mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him." [Deuteronomy 18:18 KJV]

"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name,
I will require it of him." [Deuteronomy 18:19 KJV]

Isaiah 42:1-13 speaks of the beloved of God. His elect and messenger who will bring down a law to be
awaited in the isles and who "shall not fail nor be discouraged till he have set judgement on earth." Verse 11,
connects that awaited one with the descendants of Ke'dar. Who is Ke'dar? According to Genesis 25:13,
Ke'dar was the second son of Ishmael, the ancestor of prophet Muhammad.

"Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will
bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or cry out or raise his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will
not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice." [Isaiah 42:1-
3]

It was Prophet Muhammad (saws) who was the Paraclete, Comforter, helper, Spirit of Truth, admonisher sent
by God after Jesus. He testified of Jesus by confirming that Jesus is the Christ and the Messiah, he taught new
things which could not be borne at Jesus' time, he spoke what he heard (revelation), he dwells with the
believers (through his well-preserved teachings). Such teachings will remain forever because he was the last
messenger of God, the only Universal Messenger to unite the whole of humanity under God and on the path
of PRESERVED truth. He told of many things to come which "came to pass" in the minutest detail meeting,
the criterion given by Moses to distinguish between the true prophet and the false prophets (Deuteronomy
18:22). He did reprove the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement. [John 16:8-11 KJV]

THE AWAITED PROPHET WAS TO COME FROM ARABIA:

Deuteronomy 33:1-2 combines references to Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. It speaks of God (i.e. God's
revelation) coming from Sinai, rising from Seir (probably the village of Sa'ir near Jerusalem) and shining forth
from Paran. According to Genesis 21:21, the wilderness of Paran was the place where Ishmael settled (i.e.
Arabia, specifically Mecca).

Indeed the King James version of the Bible mentions the pilgrims passing through the valley of Ba'ca
(another name of Mecca) in [Psalms 84:4-6]

MUHAMMAD'S MIGRATION FROM MECCA TO MEDINA:

PROPHECIED IN THE BIBLE:

Habakkuk 3:3 speaks of God (God's help) coming from Te'man (an Oasis North of Medina according to J.
Hasting's Dictionary of the Bible), and the holy one (coming) from Paran. That holy one who under
persecution migrated from Paran (Mecca) to be received enthusiastically in Medina was none but prophet
Muhammad.

Indeed the incident of the migration of the prophet and his persecuted followers is vividly described in Isaiah
21:13-17. That section foretold as well about the battle of Badr in which the few ill-armed faithful
miraculously defeated the "mighty" men of Ke'dar, who sought to destroy Islam and intimidate their own
folks who turned -to Islam.

Is it possible that the numerous prophecies cited here are all individually and combined out of context
misinterpretations? Is the opposite true, that such infrequently studied verses fit together consistently and
clearly point to the advent of the man who changed the course of human history, Prophet Muhammad
(peace be upon him). Is it reasonable to conclude that all these prophecies, appearing in different books of
the Bible and spoken by various prophets at different times were all coincidence? If this is so here is another
strange "coincidence"!

One of the signs of the prophet to come from Paran (Mecca) is that he will come with "ten thousands of
saints" (Deuteronomy 33:2 KJV). That was the exact number of faithful who accompanied Prophet
Muhammad to Paran (Mecca) in his victorious, bloodless return to his birthplace to destroy the remaining
symbols of idolatry in the Ka'bah. Was it another coincidence that Isaiah ties between the messenger
connected with Ke'dar and a new song (a scripture in a new language) to be sang unto the Lord described in
[Isaiah 42:10-11].

HOW THE QUR'AN WAS REVEALED IN THE SPAN OF 23 YEARS:

"Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned
from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept (advise) must be upon precept, precept upon
precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another
tongue (language) will he speak to this people." [Isaiah 28:9-11 KJV]

"And those who disbelieve say; why is not this Qur'an revealed to him all at once? Thus it is sent down in
parts, that We may strengthen your heart thereby. And We have revealed it to you gradually, in stages."
[Qur'an 25:32]

"The Trustworthy one Gabriel has brought down upon your heart O Muhammad that you may be one of the
warners, In plain arabic language." [Qur'an 26:190-196]
Is it coincidence that these verses in the Qur'an confirms the prophesy in Isaiah about Muhammad?

More explicitly,"For with stammering lips, and another tongue (arabic), will he speak to this people" (Isaiah
28:11 KJV). This latter verse correctly describes the "stammering lips" of Prophet Muhammad reflecting the
state of tension and concentration he went through at the time of revelation.

Another related point is that For twenty-three years, God's words (the Qur'an) were truely put into
Muhammad's mouth revealed to him in piece-meals. He was not the "author" of the Qur'an. The Qur'an was
dictated to him by Angel Gabriel who asked Muhammad to simply repeat the words of the Qur'an as he
heard them. These words were then committed to memory and to writing by those who hear them during
Muhammad's life time and under his supervision.

"Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. And indeed your Lord, He is indeed the
All-Mighty, The Most Merciful. And truly this Qur'an is a revelation from the Lord of the Mankind, Jinn, and all
that exist. Which the Trustworthy one Gabriel has brought down upon your heart O Muhammad that you may
be one of the warners, In plain arabic language." [Qur'an 26:190-196]

"Do they not then consider the Qur'an carefully? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have
found therein many a contradiction." [Qur'an 4:82]

"And We send down of the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe." [Qur'an 17:82]

"And indeed it (this Qur'an) will be an anguish for the disbelievrs (on the day of Resurrection. And verily, it
(this Qur'an is an absolute Truth with certainty)." [Qur'an 69:50-51]

THE QUR'AN DELIVERED TO THE ILLITERATE PROPHET:

"Then the book will be given to the one who is illiterate, saying, "Please read this." And he will say, "I cannot
read." [Isaiah 29:12 KJV Bible]

"Suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel Jibreel (Gabriel) came
to him (Muhammad) and asked him to read [Iqra]. The Prophet replied, "I do not know how to read." The
Prophet Muhammad added, "The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it
any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.'
Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then
released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, 'I do not know how to read (or what shall I
read)?' [i.e. The book the Qur'an] Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then
released me and said, 'Read [Iqra] in the name of your Lord, who has created man from a clot. Read! [Iqra]
And your Lord is the Most Generous." [Qur'an 96:1-3], [Sahih Al-Bukhai, Vol.1, book 1]

"Those who follow the messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described
in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them. He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them
that which is wrong. He will make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them only the foul; and he
will relieve them of their burden and the fetters that they used to wear. Then those who believe in him, and
honor him and help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him: they are the successful." [Qur'an
7:157]

MUHAMMAD MENTIONED BY NAME:

"His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely (praised one). This is my beloved, and this is my
friend, O daughters of Jerusalem." [Song of Soloman 5:16 KJV]

In the Hebrew language im is added for respect. Similarely im is added after the name of Prophet
Muhammad (saws) to make it Muhammadim. In English translation they have even translated the name of
Prophet Muhammad (saws) as "altogether lovely", but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet
Muhammad (saws) is yet present.
