Kaiya Mitchell
Kaiya Mitchell is a senior at Benjamin E. Mays High
School in the Math and Science Academy. Throughout her
tenure in high school, Kaiya was the sophomore class
president, junior class VP, marching band section leader,
first chair saxophone in the Mays Wind Symphony, and is
currently the captain of B.E.W.A.R.E. (Benjamin Elijah
Women Articulating Real Empowerment) and a member of
Mu Alpha Theta. After high school, Kaiya plans to attend
Georgia Tech on a full-ride scholarship pursuing a degree in
biomedical engineering. After receiving her master's degree
in Biomedical Engineering, Kaiya plans to continue
conducting research and working in her field of interest
while pursuing to build her own engineering firm. Once she
has accomplished her goal of self-employment, Kaiya plans
to take her assets and build a nonprofit after-school program
for title one middle and high school students that is geared
towards moving them in the direction of mastery, success,
and perfection in their field of interest (music, art, science,
etc.). Between running her biomedical engineering firm, an
after-school program, Kaiya would travel to internationally
impoverished civilizations and build medical facilities, and
give seminars on updating their medical practices and
equipment.
