13. WIRE ROPEc CALCULATIONS.

The wire rope calculation is done according to Ch. 2 - Sec. 3 - B500 and Ch. 2
- Sec. 7 - C200 - DNV STANDARD FOR CERTIFICATION No.2.22 - LIFTING
APPLIANCES - June 2013.

The Dynamic Safety Factor SF of wire ropes for both running and standing
application is bigger value given by the following expressions:

10
3 5
0.885 ∙ 1910

2.3 ∙
where:
 is Dynamic Factor of the Crane
 is Safe Working Load of Crane, in kN.

Where the static submersed load measured at the crane tip (F ) exceeds SWL,
SWL should be substituted by F in the above equation.

The minimum breaking load MBL is given by the following expression:

where:
 is safety factor of wire rope required.
 is the static load in the wire rope taking due account of the friction in
the sheaves over which the wire rope passes.
