Artifact- Interactive Bulletin Board

Standard #3: Learning Environments

The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative

learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-

motivation.

The artifact that I chose for standard three is the Interactive Bulletin Board that I created for my

exceptional disabilities class. For this project I had to create a bulletin board that encourages

active involvement in the classroom and it had to create a positive influence in the child’s life.

For this project I created a leadership board that gave each student a certain role in the

classroom. I thought this was a fantastic idea because it would really allow the children to be

apart of the classroom. The next thing that I did on my interactive bulletin board is, I chose to to

a star chart. Positive behavior would be rewarded by having the children add a star next to their

name whenever they are good. The children would be rewarded every time they fill up their

chart.

This artifact meets INTASC standard three because I created a bulletin board that encourages

positive interaction in the classroom and self- motivation in the classroom. The chart is a huge

advantage in the classroom for both the students and the teacher. I think that this board would be

beneficial for students because it creates self-worth and self-accomplishment when they fill up

their chart.
As a future goal I would like to make sure that I create a positive classroom environment and I

want to make that my students interact positively. I will reach this goal by creating charts such as

the one that I did and observing other teacher to see what methods they use to reach this goal.
