Professor Moore
ENGL 1302

The End
Spring of 2017 I decided to retake ENGL 1302 with Ms. Moore who is an outstanding
instructor to have when having difficulty writing essay papers. The class itself was enjoyable to
attended every Tuesday and Thursday due to the classmates I got to meet and become friends
with. Ms. Moore is not a hard grader but also, not an easy grader she would provide examples of
and outlines for the essay’s. The only assignment that turned out difficult for me was the
proposal/casual essay since it was the first time both essay was made only into one, meaning we
were her guinea pigs. Being able to improve my writing skills by doing different assignments
and even creating websites would one day come in handy. This semester I improved my skills in
researching and organizing my causal/proposal essay including the redux website in addition to
Without the choice in being able to submit our essays in blackboard for optional peer
review from Ms. Moore and the help of those who also peer reviewed it. I would not have
noticed my errors in my rhetorical analysis and casual/proposal essay before submitting my final
copy. Following academic rules include sentences felonies, fragments, comma splices, trash
words can be difficult when trying to reach word count in a completely free grammatical error.
When I turned in my rhetorical analysis for the complete rough draft she did plenty of comments
due to my many fragments, awkward and her “I don’t understand “sentences. Seeing what my
common mistakes were made me think more carefully to avoid making the same errors on my

complete final draft. Having professional pair of eyes to overlook my essay was an advantage in
creating a proper essay to achieve a high grade making this tool very helpful.
Looking back at my two essays, the casual/proposal assignment was not one of my best
grades, which was a 79 knowing full well that I was going to get a grade between 70-80. My
major error was in my body paragraphs were off focus from the topic sentence. What I should
have done is kept it organize using the MEAL plan and it there would not have been many
awkward sentences. I did improve my skills in researching which was necessary for the essay
and the redux website that went with the topic of my causal/proposal. For scholarly sources we
used EBSCO and CREDO which are both recommended by the college librarians which came in
handy when needing actual information. When creating my redux website, it was way easier to
research for more information including when it was my first time in creating one.
My writing skills and researching have both improved since the start if ENGL 1301
towards the end of this semester in re-using and learning new effective tools. Utilizing all the
skills and experience created in Ms. Moore class will help me in the near future when writing a
