1. How much electricity is used in Novato?

On average, 1691381 Kilowatts of Electricity per day

2. How will you grid generate this electricity?

Solar Panels, Wind Turbines, hydrogen fuel cells, and Gas Turbines for backup
power and winter will all be used for power sources in Novato.

3. How many of each type of generator will you need?

145809 solar panels, 212 hydrogen fuel cells, 71 wind turbines, and 5 gas turbines
to supply half of Novato’s energy needs.

4. How would we store energy?

There will be some hydrogen fuel cells to store electricity generated by the solar
panels.
We can get some tesla batteries, also we can store energy in hydrogen cells.
Basically when there is extra energy for the solar panels, we can send that to
electrolyze more hydrogen. We can also use pumped hydro storage. When there is
excess solar power, they can pump water up the hills and then when they need
power in the night they can send it down through a hydroelectric plant. The energy
is stored in the potential energy of the water.

5. How will your grid get this electricity to go where it needs to go

The grid will have several main components
First is power generation, our gas turbine solar panel farms, and wind farms +
hydrogen batteries. From there power will be stepped up in voltage and transferred
to the areas it is needed in. Then, there will be secondary substations which
changes it to lower voltage and puts it into power lines. It will be flowing at 120v
about. The hydrogen cells and electrolyzers will have a connection to the solar
panels for excess power in AC. There will also be a dc- ac converter for the
hydrogen cells output. The grid will be connected to hopefully everything in
novato.
6. How much would it cost?
$15095388-solar panels
$1484000000- cost of hydrogen fuel cells
$4615000- cost of wind turbines
$15000000- cost of gas turbines
$5.23 per kwh- solar power
$116.67 per kwh- hydrogen fuel cells
$80.00 per kwh- wind turbines
$63.33 per kwh- gas turbines
Total Cost: $1,518,710,653.23

Calculations
845690.5 x .25 = 211422.625

211422.625/550(kw per solar panel) = 145809 solar panels

211422.625/47000(kw per gas turbine)= 5 gas turbines
211422.625/1000(kw per fuel cell)= 212 hydrogen fuel cells
211422.625/3000(kw per wind turbine)= 71 wind turbines
845690.5

\frac{4000}{8}= 500
\frac{500}{265}= 1.8867924528302
