Washburn Men’s Basketball to play in conference tournament

The Washburn Ichabod Men’s basketball team will take on the Nebraska-Kearney

Lopers at Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City Missouri on March 2, 2018. This

will be the second round of the Mid America Intercollegiate Athletics Association tourney.

The Ichabods are looking to defeat the Lopers for a third time this year and secure

victory after having a first-round bye. Washburn has not had a bye in the conference

tournament since 2011.

The forty-third meeting between the Ichabods and the Lopers will tip off at noon.

Free parking is limited downtown so be prepared to pay for parking or walk a distance.

The Ichabod’s are coming off of a regular season where they finished with 21 wins

and 8 losses leading them to a second place finish in the conference.

This year marks the 37th Mid America Intercollegiate Athletics Association

basketball tournament. Washburn has won the tournament a total of 10 times.

“When we play together and to our full potential, I think we can play with every

team in this conference,” said Ichabod forward Jace Williams.”
